The stuff about his England career is rubbish. He played three tournaments at CM in 98, 00 and 02 before Gerrard or Lampard were starters and was crap in all of them. The LW thing only happened for a few games in 2004.
Here's one, Mattia de Sciglio probably has some blackmail stuff on Max Allegri, considering how long he stayed in Juventus even while playing like a sunday league player. (He's actually was transfer-listed many times, but after Allegri return, he signed an extension if i remember correctly)
As Cantona said about Ronaldinho in the Joga Bonito videos: "Never Grow Up My Friends". That's what made Ronaldinho special, he played with undisturbed joy and expressed creativity.
This is my GOAT of futbol. For true lovers of the game you have to understand that futbol is not a mere sport like everything else, it transcends that. Sports take statistics into account, but futbol is incomprehensible to that. Dinho might not have the craziest stats but he played futbol the best in its purest form.
I don't know if there's anyone else like Ronaldinho and Neymar. Nowadays seeing a rainbow flick is so rare, players only run... But when it comes to these two... They can do it all. Skill, dribble, pass, shoot, run, finish and they have a massive football IQ. Legends forever.
Prime Ronaldinhos numbers in scoring, assisting/passing and critical dribblings are off the charts. In. Every. Category. For. Itself. And he was so good in all three of them. This guy made you believe in wonders. ❤️👍
Neal maupay injuring leno in 2020 which lead to messi winning the world cup and neymar's transfer leading to liverpool comeback against barcelona are equally impressive imo
Everyone in the world could see what a man could do with a football .... He was not merely a man, he was an alien. Probably not the GOAT, there was big Ronaldo (R9) for that, but Ronaldinho remains my absolute favourite. It was the smile, the joy. He made football fun again, like it was when we were kids. Truly, that was his greatest gift.
Neither make this category, but two of the best one off celebrations have to be the opening goal of 2010 WC, Tshalabala & Marco Tardelli celebrating like a madman
Scholes said it himself Gerard could easily have done what he did and couldn’t have done what Gerard did. It’s easy to play in a generation team, it’s hard to drag mid table teams at best to trophies
It’s a shame players like these won’t get past the scouting stage these days because they only look for athletes that can follow orders not creative outright ballers
Ferguson saw in cantona that vital spark of something different,.that his team lacked,..... his squad packed with great players, but cantona gave them that cocky self belief , with unpredictable Gaelic flair,...that all great winners need,..he was that final piece of the jigsaw,...and sparked an incredible period of success,..and he was the catalyst in ending a torturous 26 year wait for the holy grail...the league title
When R10 was in his prime, there was no debate who the best player in the world was. But i have to say this, so would Neymar have been if he wasn’t in the era of the two aliens in Cristiano and Messi.
Im 40 now, and Eric Cantona is my hero and idol, he made me so happy while he was at United, i was devestated when he decided to retire, Eric, I truly truly love and miss you. You are a true LEGEND of Manchester United. always missed
I dont consider him the goat anymore, I did at one point, and he deserves to be included in that conversation, but he has his faults, his on field vision is nowhere near a cesk, xavi, or messi, nor his passing touch, but his ball control is unmatched and his flair, his style, on the pitch I'm convinced will never be repeated. He was a gift to the sport.
Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho are by far my favorite living football legends, they are the reason I fell in love with football in the first place, they are part of my childhood... To this day.. Ronaldinho's Magic on the Field was unmatched in my opinion, especially on his peak years (mainly his Barcelona period of time and some moments of the 2002 World Cup) Henry should have won at least one or two ballon d'or in the 2003 and 2004 seasons, he was so unique and underrated back then, he was almost unstoppable and genuinely a very good all-rounder authentic player. ☯️✌️
I remember begging my parents to buy me his boots. I ended up getting them for christmas. There was a his signature embroider and inside the tongue it would say "alegria" which basically means happiness. Good times. Amazing player
Man City fan here, but I have to admit he was a fantastic player. I agree with Gary Neville's comment. England should have built a team around him, rather than trying to fit him into a team with two other midfielders who were good but frankly not in the same class. Wish he had grown up a City fan though and played for us instead.
Lucky for Cantona that we now have Messi. He is out of the most overrated player discussion. I don't know which nationality as I never saw him in world cup. His country's national team is probably as weak as China.
respect the king Eric Cantona simply the best and loved my the greatest football club in the world and the best supporters ever manchester united fc ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
