i just checked the serial number with an old video on youtube that i thought was the same lift - turns out it is, and this one used to have a random button but its been removed!
Yes it did! Sad to see it removed. However, there is still one lift in this building with it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LhRuNdJuKGQ.htmlsi=hpqTvO7BmbAq5lNh
I think this is in primark near whsmith, also a fun fact is this used to be M&S to my knowledge, until it moved to the willows retail park in 2005, but the otis gen2 lumina from 2010 was not origninal to the building, thats why DFS is from 2005 as the retail park was built in 2005, there also used to be many more lofts in torquay like H&M, HMV, and new look, but they all closed down its especially sad about h&ms closure as it had a schindler 3300 with rare announcements but now its occupied by a different store and the lift has been demolished
Glad to hear it’s been reopened - it has some nice Kone E3C escalators in here. 👍 I didn’t realise any had started to reopen til I was in Luton a couple of months back. I thought I was seeing things when I saw Wilko open 😂
Yes! As far as I know there's 3 different styles of gen2 buttons. Ones that have the Oval Shape, Ones that have no shape at all and Ones that have an express button like shape which is the posh version
As far as I know, there are 4 types of otis gen 2s Selecta: oval buttons with blue led Optima: oval buttons with red led Lumina: without the oval, can also be with big button otis gen2s that you find in primark Resista: Express buttons with button at the side Here are some examples: Selecta: Tesco extra exeter Optima: Lakeland cribbs causeway bristol Lumina: M&S Torquay or Primark in Plymouth Resista: John Lewis exeter Correct me if I'm wrong
@shellnorman7331 you are correct and there's also 2 versions of each button so you get the ones where it's just a dot in the middle and the ones with the circles
@@mattacat3622 usually otis buttons with lights in the middle are either resista, or otis 2000 buttons but they are rarely seen on Lumina, selacta and Optima, although I haven't seen a selecta or Optima with that kind of fixture yet, only I have with Lumina and resista, I do have alot of experience with otis as I have many near me
Usually these lifts stay idle on the first floor with the doors open, unless they've been called. That makes it quicker for people to walk in with their troillies
@@mattacat3622 Ah that’s a shame. If you’re ever in Stevenage you’d have to visit that one - they have 4x huge 2007 Kone Travelators (an up and a down at both sides of the shop). They are about 3x the height and length of a typical Tesco Extra or Sainsburys store one. 🙂
Odd for Wilko to go for an Oakland and its strange that it has the older DAC voice. It may have been added on at a later date or the controller could have been changed.
