Actually I tried Dinnerly for the first time and canceled immediately. They sent me meals that I did not request and some was food that I do not eat They have horrible customer service. They refused to compensate for their error. The packaging is horrible because everything was just thrown in the box and I had to sit and try to figure out what ingredient goes with what recipe. In addition they don't give you everything so you still have to go to the grocery store to get some of the items, again different from most of the other meal kit companies. I had to dispute my charge and my credit card agreed with me when they saw how many complaints were listed against this company. I would stay away. However I do think Home Chef was fantastic and their packaging is amazing.
As for the sodium levels being high, if the meal is enough for two, you can always eat half the meal and eat the other half later which would cut the sodium level in half

Their meals for diabetics contain added sugars and too many carbs to truly be considered low carb. The American diabetes association guidelines for a low carb diet should only be considered by those with their diabetes under control, with low supervision from their doctors. Any dietary advice for a diabetic that has you going over 100gs of carbs in one day is essentially medical malpractice. Additionally even if you previously select meals that do not require prep, they will just send you whatever meals they feel like and say you selected them. Horrible service, worse than nutrisystem, essentially a scam masquerading as health food.

I find that to heat it up on the stove for about 5 minutes taste better. Throw some olive oil in a sauce pan. Chop up some onions, cilantro, Himalayan salt, some apple, and other real spices. The microwave seems to take on the flavor of any plastic left around the rim. Also, it seems to dry it out.
@@troybody6662 I haven’t tried the stove for these but have for others and that makes sense. I do like to add seasonings to a lot of prepared meals as they can be bland.

Shady that it's a complete offing that everyone is HAVING TO ASK HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST...HOW MUCH TO FEED. IT'S ON EVER CANS AND BAGS ON THE MARKET. MAKE ME SAD. LIKE OUR GOVERNMENT, zero Transparency.
Main issue we've had with cook unity is the support. I've never got a response on live chat or through email. Missed delivery, need an update for my gate code, issue with order... all nothing. I finally found a phone number you can text that they seem to response to so that's something but they try to get rid of you as quickly as possible. Don't answer questions, etc... The food is pretty decent. Better than Factor in my opinion.
The snack looks tiny and the container is not even half full. No way that is 5oz of food- it is a 5oz container with 2 oz of food. All the meals and salad look tiny tiny with lots of calories
I did not like Cook Unity. They are way to pushy... ie I didn't fill my cart so they filled it for me and we're going to send me food I did not choose if I didn't actively cancel my order. Also every time I got a meal with any sort of rice that wasn't just plain white rice... ie. basmati or rice pilaf etc it was basically uncooked. Just hard and dry. They also WAY over spice their Indian and Mediterranean food. I mean know they are supposed to be spicy but this was instant full body sweats hot. I had 8 meals in all and only really enjoyed 1. The other 7 I would not order a second time.
Looks good, but it is rather expensive for soup in my opinion. Also, it would be nice if they had low sugar options. I was looking 👀 into it for a lady w bad kidneys. (Diabetic friendly), although, you did a lovely review.😉
It really depends on the recipe and your appetite. All the meal kit portions are designed by nutritionists and contain around 4 to 6oz of protein per serving. I’ve noticed some will send a lot of rice and pasta bc it’s cheap and filling. Usually the portions are good for me but depending on the meal my husband (who eats a lot) will need more. I can usually tell when I order and will add another veggie or salad. Sorry it’s not a straightforward answer!
Lot of those have chilli pepper / jalapeno peppers I cant have any of those was looking forward to trying but I cant get to the menu, the ad said see our menu, but they dont show it...is there a phone number ?

I ordered that cake for my daughters birthday found it to be overwhelming, it was way too sweet. I ended up cutting the majority of the cake, and giving it to my friend I hate throwing food away. My daughters weren't a fan and we all barely finished our slice. Very disappointed I regretted not getting her the tres leches cake she wanted that was affordable.
way to many ingredients listed. i saw soybean oil. in a lot of those. i would avoid for your own health. there is a video that came out talking about most peoples health problems is because of highly processed foods. and how seed oils are the cause of most peoples health problems in the past 50 years.
It's all about the packaging. Mine had chicken noodle soup, really tasteless and watery. In 2025 still in plastic not glass. I threw out what was left of the first one; still have the other one in the freezer. Rolls were mediocre, chocolate chip cookies were OK. You can get better ones at your supermarket.
i heard now in 2024 you can get the printed recipe cards for dinnerly.... which company do you think is better after trying !. being best you think is the afforadble one and 2. being fav if money wasnt a factor.... dinnerly, hellofresh, homechef, everyplate, gobble?
Thanks for the comment! Yes, you can now get paper recipe cards which I love. For my family, we go where we like the recipes and they have discounts. We bounce between several companies so that we don’t get bored 😁

Imagine paying for a food service cooked by a real chef...saving so much time, and not be willing to put it in the oven for 10 minutes...making the flavor 2x better.
Thank for the comment! They actually arrive fresh and have fewer preservatives than supermarket frozen dinners bc they are met to be eaten within a few days.
Be careful of Baketivity Subscription service! It says right on their website you can cancel it at anytime. But they will not give you any kind of a refund for the unused portion. Totally deceptive advertising. I bought the six-month package. We did not like either of the first two months and wanted to cancel the rest. But they just hung up on me when I called to say I’d like to cancel the rest.
