I and my parents have lived in this country our whole lives but my grandad on my dad's side was Polish/Ukrainian. He worked hard for his family and he got by. This "Rule Brittania" mentality seriously makes me question what he saw in this country. Like, I don't have a second language so I don't know what I would do outside the country but I really don't want to stay here with people like the fearmongering rightwing dipshits who tell you "ooh, the immigrants are coming to take your jobs!" when the jobs being taken are jobs that they consider so menial as to be 5 miles beneath them and they're either absolutely full of shit or they are so hopelessly gullible that they think that all these immigrants are just gonna wipe away the establishment in a scenario reminescent of Enoch Powell's speeches about the "whip hand" and "rivers of blood". Since when did this country become so overcrowded with 19th century toffs?
