It seems that the stunningly beautiful ( Location) Morecambe fell foul of the Thatcher PROJECT that was aimed chiefly at Liverpool..That was 'planned decline' The sheer HATRED of anything to do with Lancashire perhaps stems from the attitude of firstly the ROYAL FAMILY Surprised? They own so much of Lancashire in fact bleeding it dry to the sum of over 250,000 pounds a year under a 1350 medieval law that granted them tyres...NEVER repealed Its King Charles's pocket money BUT he has bigger fish to catch from Lancashire Anyone who dies 'intestate' ( without a will) in Lancashire forfeits any money to the Crown. Charles has 'netted ' over 10 billion pounds that way. The American author Bill Bryson wrote that Morecambe was one of the most beautiful locations he visited for his book about the island of the UK...He was amazed that it was so poorly looked after..Things did look up for awhile. but the continued neglect and refusal to put it on a motorway link. eroded any progress... what I call planned vandalism of a jewel

Houses painted in such colour indicated the members of Swedish diaspora in the UK (mainly Liverpool). Look at the Liverpool FC logo - it is in same red copper colour.
5 years ago I used to rent in the building shown at the very start (the corner flat number 4) before I was forced to leave by the gangs who operate in the area and who would do absolutely everything to kick regular people out of there. Seeing it being run down with windows smashed is only a proof that nothing's changed over the past 5 years since I moved out. Absolutely horrendous to sell these homes to people without not even a single mention of that sort of risk anywhere. Not worth any money!
We went to Morecambe a couple of weeks ago for the Easter weekend and we enjoyed it, we stayed at the Ashley BandB which was very nice with a lovely Breakfast it has its problems but which places don’t theses days.
BOLLOCKS ! Every town has its shit areas and Yes Morecambe has more than its fair share however, Morecambe also has some really good areas and ultimately something down right AMAZING? It's Bay ! Which house, s not 1 but 2 AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and some of the Best Sunsets in the WORLD !
What happened? I doubt many on here care, not being scousers. History is what happened. This is just one of the many reasons why L8 ( Toxteth ) is a BLOODY SLUM!!!!) I Absolute DESPISE!!! the area & waiting on a move to a area that doesn't have such a bad rep. I boarded up all those houses an others in the deprived areas of lpool kennsington anfield dingle etc there should be an enquiry into the running of lcc cos the must of spent millions an millions on security an "regeneration " utter shambles of an idea an a disgrace really

I’ve visited Morecambe three times and like most people do only for the Deco Hotel. The minute you leave the building all becomes very apparent that it’s on its arse, the people are super friendly and don’t deserve what’s happening to the area but I did hear rumours about an Eden style project was coming soon fingers crossed for all the good people of Morecambe
