Welcome to my channel. My name is Morgan, I offer weekly videos of woodturning and other techniques of artisanal manufacture of wooden works of various species, sometimes associating resin, metal or leather, always in a spirit of respect and harmony with the natural resources available to us by promoting recycling. When you glue the rings together on the lathe at 6:25, how do you center them? Or is it just a matter of "close enough" because they'll be turned anyway?
Abumaia Your question is very interesting. I don't center them randomly because that requires precision. I use a centering cone which you don't see in the video but which I will show in a future video.
I don't know how you conceptualize these projects. How many people on the planet would look at a flat piece of wood and imagine a (what did the person in the earlier comment call it?) a hollow form? Pure artistic genius, that's what it is!! I always appreciate your sharing your gift with use. Best regards - Vee
Every time I watch your videos, I try to figure out what's the piece is going to be. I never get it lol. Regardless, as always, I loved the result, it's a piece of art. ❤
Maravillosa pieza. Parece mentira que de una simple pieza de madera surja algo así. Fantástico! Gran creatividad! Abrazo! Germán, Lomas de Solymar, Uruguay
Very nice, I have always in gluing up teak had to clean the edges with acetone to get the oil in the teak cleaned from the edges. Thanks for another great video.
Morgan, there is only so much that can e said for your work. Most people have already said it. AMAZING!! I love watching you turn something beautiful, into something more beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
That is very pretty. I've always thought Teak was a lovely wood. I wasn't sure about the red resin at first but it does complement the Teak well. Love the shape of this piece too. Will you be making any more plates? Your creativity really shines in those. 😊
Lynn❤️❤️ Thank you very much for your comment, I'm glad you like this piece😉 yes indeed if I manage to find more of this Teak burl, I will make plates with it
Hey Morgan. When I first saw that teak burl patterning I thought it was beautiful as it was. Nature's art. Yet you go ahead and chop it into little pieces. I don't know that I would have your courage. The end result was like a multiplication of the original beauty with many different individual pieces of art combined. I love your work. Thanks mate, Joel.
I cannot find bamboo in anything but 1/4 to 3/8. Would you mind posting source you use please? I have looked everywhere I know of. I have been inspired to use it in my turnings after seeing other videos you have had.
Awesome . Have you tried to do a photo reproduction or carving or 3 d with this Ikier ? I'm wondering if i can do a good photo reproduction . Is that the 70 w Ikier ?Thanks
