So let's say you don't want it connected to online. Would you be able to create your own descriptions for a select barcode? I'd like this to scan in and out VHS tapes, DVDs, etc and keep track of my own media inventory
Hi, the software looks up the product information online. So it's not going to retrieve information. You could manually type in all the details along with the barcode if you want. It would be quite time-consuming though.
An overlooked advantage of having a household inventory is for your executor. I can't imagine all the things my executor does not know about the items in my house - value, history, why it's important to me, etc. The notes field is invaluable.

Same what I am looking to do is be able to track my inventory to see how many I have, to be able to scan the product and see the description & price of it.
Is there an ASIN lookup feature? Is there a way to purge old information and re-download info using the new UPC database? Are there plans for the 2023 release to have a re-skinning a là the Office > 2013 ribbon?
Hi, we may put a lookup button next to the ASIN field? would the be acceptable? The program does'nt track whether information was retrieved using the barcode lookup or entered manually, so there is no easy way to re-download.
update: Paul sent me a new link/code and this time it worked :) Got the link but I can not get 2022 to recognize my product key. Since I reformatted recently I re-installed 2020 with no problem. Installing 2022 over it asks for my key again, then will not recognize it. Now what?
Not sure if I will use the latest features, I guess others will though. I do have this software and I'm very happy with it. Just don't see why using Amazon will help me record my household items for insurance purposes. Great software though :)
Agreed. It's very nice that they are continuing development and I will purchase the upgrade just to support them because I do like the software. I'm not a fan of Amazon or this new integration into this software. Does Amazon now get an inventory of my house inventory? Is there a sharing agreement in place? I suppose this is a question for the company and not youtube comment field. Still it's a very clean program and has done well over the years. We'll see how far this new trend goes.

Bought a licence today and installed the app. Discovered that Drag n Drop is not working over here. Also the app is crashing when i press on the 'Add using Webcam Icon' and when i select the 'item Picture(s)' tab in the item Properties dialog box. Little bit disappointing to me.
Can I ask. What happens when your computer is stolen and the thieves now have a video and photo of all your items ? Plus you lost your data to show the insurance company.
Is there a size limit for an uploaded file? From my experience, there seems to be a size limit because my uploads (now) time out. And, that is using a 25-30 mbs upload speed.
Are these items you pre-entered database records for, or is the software looking them up on-line, live? I tried scanning items around the house and nothing comes up... I am assuming you had to enter each item by hand, originally?
Hi, we use an online database of close to 100,000,000 items. It is not complete but should include most household items at this point. Sorry yours were not found, were they a popular brand?
Hi, we took a look and we need to upgrade our barcode lookup service with the company that does this for us. I believe that is why none of the items are being found. Should be ready the day after labor day.
I for some reason cannot install the program on my laptop using my same activation key used on my desktop program, so how can we transfer the usage over to my laptop ???
You don’t have to buy anything. The code should work for 2 computers if you get a code in use error just email us the code and we can deactivate 1 user. You can deactivate a computer by selecting TOOL > LICENSING > DEACTIVATE LICENSE from the homemanage main menu
