I have a G3 Angler V17SF. It has the bow eye with mounting block. According to your website, I need the Sport Model of Ramp N Clamp, however this video seems to say that the block would cause damage and that I need the Model L. Which is correct?
The G3 is the Sport Model. If the block extends further than 2 inches in front of the eye, you need the sport. G3 is detailed in the model L details recommending to use the Sport.
@@Boat2trailer Ok thanks. The block is not as pronounced/ high as some other boats, however it is longer than 2". I also emailed you some photos to confirm.
Awesome - but not totally (yet): I just purchased and installed the long-handle, Sport model on my Skeeter's trailer. All I have done so far is put the boat on the trailer (not launched yet). It was awesome being able to secure on the trailer - and not having to leave the engine running (while in gear), lay on the front deck to attach the winch hook, crank it tight -- just to keep from sliding away from the winch. But here is my first issue: I have the exact same, fat winch hook as the one in this video - and there is not enough room to secure the winch hook while latched to the new device. There is room for the thin, safety chain hook - but not the fat winch hook. I pushed the provided bolt to attach the device through the holes with the plastic-looking bushings -- would choosing a different hole for the bolt free up more space for the winch hook?
We typically recommend short handle for bunks and long handle for roller trailers. the short handle allows you to release the clamp on level land and the boat comes off the trailer once it floats. the long handle allows you to release from inside the boat when the trailer is already in the water
Man, you boys are making it real tempting , but Ive still got that damn Drotto up in the garage attic that gave me fits as your well aware .still its very tempting
Just installed one of these on my Mako211. I really hope it performs well with my steeper bow pitch.... when I cranked my winch, it clipped right in, but this was on the roller trailer... we will see once I get to test it at the ramp.
I’m here because I have a bunk trailer, however at my local boat launch it would work best to use the long handle with a rope to disengage from a dock. Not sure why so many bunk owners would choose the short handle. Other than the handle length, the short and long manual handles seem to be the same. Can Boat2Trailer please comment?
@@redfisher4132 bro the short one you can release anywhere you want but the long one won’t work only when you in the water it for your safety but for me I perfer the short one so I can release anyway anyplace or work on the boat
@@AhRamboRo then I guess the Drotto is the better option for me. It has the long handle to attach a rope to if needed, and it can be released at any time.
These things look amazing... I'm going to order one with the hopes that it will work on my on Mako 211.... we'll just have to see. I think that my stem has enough pitch.
