Camp supplies are things like propane/fuel for our stove, ice for the cooler, and a portion of the national park pass. We get the annual park pass since we go so often and it didn't seem right to add the whole cost of it. 😉

Good tip for getting that motor to work, use an extra trash can the city gives you and fill it with water and place your motor in it until the prop is in water. On the carborater, find the idle and running adjustment and screw the 2 screws all the way in and reset to factory setting (usually found in online forums will tell you how many turns to unscrew your adjustment screws) and motor should start. Fresh gas always helps and another thing too check the gas tank if it has an adustable air vavle too sealed or unsealed will make the engine stall after 100ft good luck guys!!!

No extra cost to add a second driver 😊 There were a bunch of add-on items that you could pay extra for (towels, chairs, cooler, etc). Scroll to 11:05 and we show the price breakdown

How much for the rental?

Van Rental was around $300 because we booked it for a one-way deal. That included the insurance coverage. If you scroll to 11:05 we talk about the cost and booking. 😊

@SuLuOutdoors
@SuLuOutdoors 2 месяца назад
It doesn't have AC, but there's 2 roof vans that open up to circulate the air. It was still cool in April (around 10C to 15C), so it wasn't hot at all! We actually had to turn on the heat at night. It might get pretty warm in the summers 😅

Here are the details: 🚐 We traveled from Calgary to Vancouver (approximately 1250KM) and didn't deviate much from the route. We snagged an awesome deal from @karmacampervans . We had a kilometer allowance in our van rental and didn't want to pay extra 🫠 🏕 We only paid for a campsite 1 night. The other 2 nights we found free camping! 🍴The food cost includes eating out for 3 meals, so we could have saved some moola by cooking in the van. ⛽️ Gas is really expensive in BC. Mileage in the city was TERRIBLE, but highway was similar to driving the truck. ✈️ Other costs included: fees for our flights home (we only drove the van one-way), airport parking for our vehicle, Uber rides, etc. We used @aeroplan points to pay for the actual flights, so we saved a lot of money that way! Any questions about renting a camper van to explore Alberta and British Columbia? Let us know!

Save this one for later! 🥾 Siffleur Falls is an easy day hike and the suspension bridge is always fun (~7km) 🥾 Sunwapta Falls is an easy walk from the parking lot (< 1km) 🥾 Stanley Falls is along beauty creek trail and there's actually multiple falls along the way (~2km) And guess what? None of these are in Banff National Park... so you can avoid the crowds and still take in the mountain views 😉

How does the vestibule attach to the tent? Is it a zipper at the top? It's strange to see it as a separate piece.
@SuLuOutdoors

Yes, it's zipped onto the front of the tent (just under the awning part). It's not typical, but seems to work!

Looked like a fun day out. Is the Wildcat still holding up quite reliable? I plan to have a 22 as a backup home gun, may get the SR version to (eventually) add a suppressor (far down the road). Still looking.
@SuLuOutdoors
@SuLuOutdoors 5 месяцев назад
It's been relatively reliable, but the groupings can be sporadic based on the ammo. If I was looking at a 22 as a backup gun, I would try for a Ruger 10/22. A lot more options for modifications down the line, and spare parts are everywhere!
@mikem.2078
@mikem.2078 5 месяцев назад
@@SuLuOutdoors I believe 10/22s are supposed to be 7 to 8 pounds? I do have an HK MP5 and that weighs 7+. It's good, but not for maneuvering, it's bulky and sort of heavy. I plan to go as light as possible.
@SuLuOutdoors
@SuLuOutdoors 5 месяцев назад
@@mikem.2078 Ah gotcha, the wildcat is definitely lighter than the Ruger 10/22. A good one to consider for what you want then!
@mikem.2078
@mikem.2078 5 месяцев назад
@@SuLuOutdoors Hey, since you mentioned the 10/22, I'm looking specifically at the 10/22 "Takedown", which might have what I want. However, I don't know whether the Takedown version is as modifiable, especially the rear stock part. Any idea? I prefer "pistol grip" not the sloping kind. Do you think the Takedown has aftermarket pistol grips? (That's the only part I'd want to modify, don't care about everything else, front grip, etc).
@SuLuOutdoors
@SuLuOutdoors 5 месяцев назад
@mikem.2078 I think you're right with the Takedown not being as modifiable, but it does look like you can change out the stock and grip specifically. Let us know what you end up going with! The Takedown looks like a sweet setup 👌
