It's a double-stack .45ACP mag so it's fat, and it will not fit in standard 1911's that use a slim single-stack magazine including most other Rock Island Armory standard 1911's. To my knowledge, Springfield Armory's only double-stack 1911's are their DS Prodigy pistols which are all 9mm guns so I don't think this will work in anything Springfield makes. It was originally designed for the Para Ordnance P14-45 and will only work in double-stack 1911's which are kind of rare. If you have a Springfield Armory 1911 in .45 and want slightly more capacity than 7 or 8 rounds, Wilson Combat makes a nice slightly extended 10-round mag that is very reliable ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sZ0CevWynFs.html. Good luck to you.
@@GigatonsGunworks Thank you so much for the reply. One more question. Do you full conceal that 1911 in the video or is it too big to full conceal or uncomfortable cause of the bulkiness? Thank you for the help.
@@anthonymartinez3525 The 1911 in this recording is a range toy / plinker for me. It wouldn't be too tough to conceal during the cooler months when I can wear a light jacket or hoodie. You can conceal carry anything if you're determined. However, I'm a slim guy and I live in a southern state that's hot most of the year so I dress very light almost all the time which makes it harder for me to conceal something like this. My personal preference for CCW's tend to mostly be subcompacts as a result.
The K6S is completely steel so it has a bit more weight than some other small revolvers which helps a good deal with felt recoil. It's slightly heavier to carry, but shooting it feels better than other light weight guns.
It is not. If you check their site Ruger has two separate lines of pistols, the LCP and LC380. They are very similar and it's kind of hard to tell, but the LC380 is slightly larger and has easier to use sights and slide serrations. The LC380 was introduced a few years after the LCP. The LC380 is slightly easier to shoot especially for people with larger hands, and the LCP is easier to carry because of the slightly reduced size.
You can order them from any online store that sells magazines and accessories including directly from KRISS USA's own web store. You can buy the extended magazines or just the kit to extend your existing G21 magazines that you already have. Good luck.
Yeah the Glock 21 is generally more reliable and forgiving. However, I'm shooting the Glock 20 here with cheaper 10mm target ammo that isn't loaded all that hot. The cheap stuff saves me money on target practice at the range, but demands a firm grip or you limp wrist the action and it fails to feed. If you carry a Glock 20 for defense and are using hotter / high quality defensive ammo, it would make the gun cycle far more reliably. Combined with some good practice, I think the Glock 20 would still be fairly reliable and 10mm might be more desirable than .45ACP for some situations. I agree with you though, and the Glock 21 would be my go to CCW in most situations. If I was going hiking in bear country though, I might opt for the Glock 20 instead 😅
I picked up mine last month and it shoots a tight group low left (which is me not the pistol). I personally like the feel and even though slightly heavier than my 1911 single stack, I think it feels like less recoil.
Great vid. My mountain carry is a G27. Im just looking for a 22lr drop in that is somewhat functional for a back up as food harvesting. Duck, goose, pheasant, grouse or squirrels. Thanks!
Yeah I've considered several after market stocks over the years and almost decided to get the Magpul Backpacker at one point but in the end I also just stuck with the factory configuration. It's very functional and I haven't had any issues with it. If you like the 10/22 Takedown design, perhaps consider their PC Carbine if you ever wanted a 10/22 Takedown in 9mm. It's basically the same gun chambered in 9mm except that it comes with the picatinny rail built onto the receiver.
@@GigatonsGunworks my summer edc is an lcp max. It just runs. They do sell a lemon from time to time but they are super innovative. I hear some raunchy stories about Ruger models that I own and I've had nothing but great experience.
I just bought one of these today! Looks like it runs real smooth. Very accurate, or it could just be the shooter 😉 Californias new taxes on firearms and ammunition begins in 2 days. So I bought an sig 1911 in 45acp and gsg 22lr. After my purchase I go to look them up and your videos have come up both times and making me excited for my purchases although my wife is not so amped. I keep saying I’m done spending money on firearms for the last year. She’s starting not to believe me. lol 2 pistols and ammo along with accessories gets expensive quick.
Haha you seem to be a 1911 fan 😄. Congrats on the new .22LR! The ATI GSG 1911 feels great in hand and is super easy to shoot well because it has great sights. It runs best with high velocity ammo so I recommend using hotter stuff like anything CCI. You gotta start trying to hide your firearm purchases from your lady, man 😅. I hope you get to enjoy some range time soon with your new 1911's. Good luck!
@@GigatonsGunworks I just bought a bunch of federal 22lr ammo 40gr solid champion automatch. Do you think that will work? I wish I had known sooner but I can get some CCI. There are many different options for that. Thanks for the recommendation.
@@Ryan_Rothford I wouldn't worry too much about it, that's decent ammo. Just give the Federal a go and if it's finicky, pick up some CCI. When it comes to .22LR pistols, they can all be somewhat picky with ammo. That's the .22LR life. Your best bet is just to test out a bunch and see what works best for your pistol. It's part of the fun of .22 😅
@@MadlyParrot5345 Mec-Gar is the OEM magazine manufacturer for many European firearm companies including Beretta. Their magazines are flawless and as good or better than factory mags for most pistols especially because they use a nested recoil spring which gets them +2 round capacity in most cases. The top of the package of every Mec-Gar magazine has their slogan "Over 100 Million OEM Firearms Magazines Made Since 1965". You can't go wrong with a Mec-Gar mag, and if you buy an "official" Beretta mag, there's a 90% chance the one you get will have the Mec-Gar stamp on the magazine body anyway.
It's great, and I'd recommend it for defensive use. I've owned a lot of cheaper lasers and laser/flashlight combos. Over repeat range trips, many of the cheaper ones die on me or start turning off on their own when I take a shot. I think the cheap ones have build quality problems where they just can't stand up to the shock of sustained gun fire. They are only good as range toys until they start to break. This TLR-2 is now my oldest laser/light and has proven to be worth what I paid for it. The laser has held zero since I set it and has never failed. The gun it's on is actually my primary home defense pistol which is how much I trust it. It is a bit bulkier than many others you can find out there. However, I see that as a good thing because it means it can house a beefier battery, and the added weight actually reduces muzzle climb. My 92FS M9A1 with the Streamlight is noticeably softer shooting than the 92FS with no Streamlight despite them being pretty much the same gun. Good luck to you.
Congratulations on your purchase, I think you made a fantastic choice 😄. I own a few 1911's and the SIG 1911 in this recording is my absolute favorite and the last one I'd ever sell. I hope you enjoy your range time with it, thanks so much for watching!
Having a slight shake like his usually happens when I’ve been shooting a decent bit and that rush hits, some people just can’t control it. I tend to have that tendency sometimes as well it means your enjoying yourself especially if your just shooting at a range and just firing off shots.
I'm sure you'll love it, it's pretty much exactly like the G21 but slightly punchier. I'm very happy to hear you were able to get your G21's last year! I hope you get to enjoy some quality range time with your new G20 up and coming 😄
I shoot my revolvers in both double and single action and find both equally enjoyable. Here is a recording of this SP101 in double action alongside its bigger brother the GP100 if you are interested in seeing it in double action ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F_uxu5dAIzc.html . I haven't tried hollows. This is a recreation / target pistol for me so I always run the cheapest ammo I can find and hollows are more costly. The only thing I've shot aside from FMJ is some flat-nosed Jacketed Soft Point ammo that was on sale. I didn't encounter any issues with those.
