I am not from any hood, but I love this song. I have cousins who were in gangs in ELA and WLA in the 60's and 70's. They are both locked up in Prison. One from Hazard and one from WS 18th St. I have a best friend in high school who was locked up in the Pen. and now he is out. He was a great athlete and great student in high school and was really close to my family. Later on in life, he hung around with a gang and did a drive by and they killed a rival gang member. I never wanted to be in gang and always worked hard all my life sometimes working 2 jobs 7 days a week in my 20's. I am 68 years old and just retired from working for an Auto and Home Insurance Co. after 32 years. I miss all my cousins and friends I grew up with. I am shedding a tear now for them. Gotz to go.
I don't think ABZ as a whole was ever 13K, they for sure had bad beef with the Longos but it didn't extend to an entire race. Unlike Longos who were pressing "nip killer" and things like that on very racial terms. And these types of gang interactions vary from city to city. Like the Black vs Mexican racial gang wars, some cities the two co-existed relatively peacefully while others it was very bad. So ABZ and other Asian gangs wouldn't have beef with F13 on the streets since they aren't located close to each other city wise.
