GIVE THIS SHOW A DAMN QUALITY RELEASE! I’m sure companies have the money to buy the footage. Plus most shows have an entire performance filmed for trailer footage. So why hasn’t this and other musicals got video releases? C’mon, Netflix? DisneyPlus? SOMEONE BUY IT
I affirm Jonjon Briones' assessment that the 25th Anniversary production is more tight and relentless. I've only seen videos of the Manila production with Lea Salonga as Kim and of the 25th Anniversary production with Eva Noblezada as Kim. There will only be one Lea Salonga but Eva shines in her very own right. Jonjon Briones as the Engineer in the 25th is a real treat and way better than Leo Valdez of the Manila production. And Hong Kwang Ho gave Thuy of the 25th a more palpably emotional take than Robert Sena's in the Manila peoduction. But I enjoyed both productions to the core and am most grateful for it.
I saw this play five years ago and it's still with me now. I love the psychological approach to the material as we're immersed in the breaking of the will of Winston Smith.
