I noticed that Google/RU-vid is ripping-off Landumc with AI generate plablum with un-insightful narrative, mispronouncations, in appropriate Muzak and repetitive facts as if the narrator didn’t have a BRAIN! RU-vid has been pushing this on my list and I mark it as “Not Interesting!!!” Love Landy!!!

Thanks for addressing this issue: Hazmat Painters that sadly funny 😂! It’s interesting how many of our most famous and prolific artists who worked in oils lived well into their eighties, before OSHA labels and “safe” solvents. Personally, I love the smell of turps and oils and I’d rather ventilate and wear a coat than wear gloves, mask, etc… There is quite a difference between working professionally and huffing and I really hope that safety concerns won’t overshadow creativity and experimentation in the arts, especially painting Know your body, know your medium, adjust accordingly and have fun!

I think the higgins should be marketed as a more old school style brush = meant to be more natural feeling - harkening back a few centuries to the exspressove strokes of ancient asian style calligraphy

There is so much MISINFORMATION in this audio. YOU TWO are the reason people are afraid of mineral spirits. People who are allergic to plants have mrsa. That lady seemed to confuse HERSELF when she explains things 😂
@robertgary1850
@robertgary1850 Год назад
CANCER is caused by MRSA, SUN DOES NOT CAUSES CANCER!! every illness in the world is caused by staphylococcus=MRSA. All essential oils kill mrsa. THEREFORE every illness IN THE WORLD can be cured by injesting massive amounts of essential oils=mineral spirits=turpentine=baby oil. They are all made out of the essence of plants and all kill MRSA..
@robertgary1850
@robertgary1850 Год назад
Mineral spirits =turpentine is harmless to human tissue. only people with mrsa THINK IT IS DANGEROUS because the oil stings when it touches their body. But you NEED TO KNOW that its not the oil that is stinging, it is just the oil RIPPING THE MRSA hooks OUT OF FLESH. DONT LET THAT STOP YOU from using and injesting thr oil. Actually pain is a good thing because it means you are KILLING MRSA. keep putting oil on all the spots that burn until it stops burning. Then the MRSA IS GONE from that spot.

Thanks for the video. This Osprey - I also got the blue one - is the worst pen I ever bought. I also deeply regret having paid customs duties on that piece of.... I got the pen with a Zebra G, an ultra flex, and a stub nib. So far, after tinkering with it twice all afternoon, I've only got the stub nib to work - in a Jinhao 159. 🤪 Several times, I've had hours of fun "priming" Noodler's Ahabs, and I've always gotten them to work as they should. Absolutely no such luck on the Osprey pen. I'll give it one last try with the Rohrer and Klingner sketch ink. At least that's easy to come by in Germany, where I am. If that doesn't work, I'm giving up and throwing away the pen.
@billwilsonstudio16

I'm sorry for your frustration. I've had the same experience with other pens people have reviewed. They had great results and mine was terrible. Like I said in my video, I couldn't get the pens (3) of them to work worth anything with the Noodlers Ahab ink. Not at all. However, so far, with the Rohrer and Klingner I've had really good results and like them very much. I sincerely hope you get good results with the new ink.

Hi Bill, I finally got the pen to work with a Noodler's flex nib - which is also from India. So success on one front. I still haven't tried out the Zebra G with the Rohrer & Klingner. Will eventually see how that goes. ;-)

You need to clean off the oils in all new fountains or they don't work well.

I like everything you said about the medium in this video and am super envious of your brushwork. I'm now inspired to work harder ... there are a couple of Wrightson pieces that I'm keen to practice copying and might try some of the background strokes with a no2 brush, already getting sweaty hands just thinking about it. Wish me luck :)

Wow! What a great interview and listening experience. I'm thankful for Dave Sunstrom and this interview by the ArtThropologist. These memories of growing up influenced by these TV shows are important to me because I don't have faith in society like I did back then so it means the world to me to appreciate these shows that represented "movin' on up" in a positive growth vibe vs the dark today. I love going to the laundromat because they have Antenna TV and it plays these old shows - some I know and some I don't. I never would have thought that I'd have such a respect for the pop culture from the past as an adult. I liked the questions that were asked too, that was cool.

I feel your not fully understanding what Saphir Renovateur is actually used for! It's not a filler. It's a cream leather conditioner, that's all! You would be better served with a hard wax filler. Of course wax would only be a temporary fix.

Why not take them to a shoe cobbler and get the boot professionally repaired. I own about 6 exotic skin western boots. Every time in need a repair or a resole, I take them to a cobbler

Some people like to do things themselves when applicable. Resole is totally different beast then a small repair like this. I probably would have been little more extensive with the repair. Like lite sanding and what not.

I think is this a highly informative instructional video for which I Thank You. In regards to your philosophy; I am 80% onboard. I do agree that one's appearance and style is an indicator , somewhat, of the personality of the person. Equally, I agree that in the presence of others good grooming and hygiene is imperative but where we differ is that I don't believe people should dress in a style simply because it something others expect or prefer. That , in my opinion, is not showing respect. It subverting one's own sensitivities to assuage others. For example, I absolutely refuse to wear neckties. I am more than capable of dressing in a manner that is clearly formal but it WILL NOT include a necktie(or bowtie) and I am not being disrespectful. If that is the standard by which respect is measured then anyone wearing a necktie is being disrespectful in my presence which is an absurd position to assume. If this is true then why isn't the inverse also true?
