Some may says these are scars in the earth, I personally think they are pretty impressive and really enjoy the dance all the component machinery parts do to make this efficient. I also like to look back and try to work out why things were done the way they were e.g. the steps, the flooded section, etc. I live close to many of the huge brickworks that once were - very impressive, and again why and how?
You should do some research before leaving comments like this mate. Quarrying plays a large role in helping wildlife believe it or not. Once the land has been excavated they will be turned into wetlands and grasslands for all kinds of plants and animals. The company that owns this quarry is currently working on what will be the largest wetland for birds in the UK. These companies are obligated to work closely with the community and environmental groups to ensure this. There has even been new species discovered in the uk purely down to restored wetland
Terrible background music that only a small percentage of viewers would appreciate, the majority of people like myself would probably find it offensive. When designing videos, it is always best to design for your audiences preferences rather than your own, else you don't get too many subscribers as you will be only catering to a small niche who like that noisy and offensive 'music'. The actual footage is brilliant and really good, but the background music lets it all down. Sorry for the negative feedback, I hope it gives you food for thought though.
Them railings on the upper bit of Catherine Hill bring back nasty memories, when I was a kid a bit of lead paint embedded itself from them under my finger nail. Is Rob's barber shop still there?
The River Frome is to be re named ...... The River Turd in recognition to the towns Tory MP who has said and done nothing to clean up this river during his time as our MP ....... so remember when you visit Frome always bring some nose pegs just in case these turds start to smell a bit during the hot sunshine.
Does anyone know what they are doing with the place now. Seeing a lot of clearing out and some of it looks totally different to when I used to go there... Used to have some amazing times there during summer. 😁
Ye I work there on grounds works there getting the houses up now it's going to be holiday homes but u can live there all year round and I think there's goin to be a pool for that the public can use too
Nice video. I’ve cycled around some of the quarries around Frome they are pretty fascinating and huge. I do wonder about the environmental impact though and they always smell strongly of diesel and oil around them you can smell it driving past or at least I can. Still they’re very interesting. Nice videos!
@@chris77777777ify it really seems to smell of oil though. It’s a very petrochemical smell not the dust/damp smell you describe which I know what you mean. There always seems to be a plume of smoke billowing from the machines too which I guess is the rock crushers.
We get Gooseanders on the River Hull near Beverley. It's not a wide river here and if you walk along the bank they just drift across to the other side. You can stand and take photo's without them flying away.
Sadly I think the greedy developers are looking to build on all the beautiful fields and empty space around Frome. Should not be allowed. Good video btw.
