I started in 2005, so I'm definitely used to the classic soundfonts, but I still love the new versions because they are using hi-fi instruments, but still maintain the integrity and melody of the original. It's the same songs I love.
This showed up for me today. I just started playing RS again after 14 years off. And I just got my fire cape today. This is how i feel. My wife just stares at me 😅
Never quite really been stuck to Runescape, or well, there was that summer of 2006 I suppose... I have been playing a bit, but not very much if seen over all the years. I started somewhere in 2004. Most of my class played it. We sat in the playground during school breaks planning our Runescape afternoons, making deals and what not. I always was to sell 5000 feathers 5/each to my friend for flyfishing :D Locoally farmed at Lumbridge chickens! Anyhow, a bit off topic... So I have been playing since 2004, kept playing until 2009 or so. I used to be a noob like everyone, but when school-break ended summer of 2006 I had spent all of the summer infront of Runescape, going from a pleb to the richest guy in school. Been merching all kind of stuff above the Varrock east-bank. Crap! went off topic again. So, 2009 I quit as the new combat system and graphics and stuff alienated me and my oldschool friends from the game. Then when 2013 came around I played quite a bit with the introduction of Oldschool Runescape. Most of my friends never bothered about it, but some of us went back to it. Grand Exchange came around and that was a bit meh, I understand GE so well, it is a nice feature, but I really loved the part of manually doing business, it was an art and you grew a community and knew everyone, scammers scammed, mechers merches, and it was just charming. I must admit, in 2013 I was scamming a bit as well, not much but I sold noted Bones as Big Bones :E Sorry! Crap, again! So I played a bit of 2013 but less and less and basically when I hit level 100 in 2017 I quit, not like quit, just a long break, I eventually want to return to the game, but yeah. Only been logging on once a year or so to check if I have been hacked yet, so far so good. Also, 2017 hit me hard, I just remember, sorrie one of those stories again... It might have been a part reason for my break. So I merched a ton of dragon bolts, I bought them and enchanted, making them Dragon Bolt e. So they were pricy alright, especially from inflattion... for 2016/2017, they cost 2300 or so to buy, enchanted and sold for 2700. Made a huge profit, when I had about 40m I one day as any day, sold them on the GE, but I was quick and mistakenly sold them for... wait I actually have a screenshot, 1 sec. imgur.com/a/g6iNUml there we go :D So I sold a huge amount of regular Dragon Bolts for 234 each instead of 2340... ofc there was an offer out to buy them for that cheap, so that prick must have been happy. But yeah, one typo of a number and paff 30m became 3m Anyways, I have a ton of fond memories, some bad and some really cool from my time in RS, but all of them are nice to think back upon :) I espcially remember that day me and my friend wanted to become member for our first time. We sent swedish currency in a mail from Swedish postbox to England and a week later we became member. How crazy is not that? It feels like one of those stories told by our grandmas how stuff was for them back in their days :D Wait, am I getting old?
I remember being scamed by my cousin, he was shady. It was so long ago so not clear on details. But I was told by him that rune was not worth much, I believed him, and he offered to buy it for like 10k for runite kiteshield, legs, helm and longsword. I accepted as I trusted him. The next day in class I told the other friends in my class about it, they explained to me that he scammed me and we made a plot to bring him into the wildy for a PK-evening, we were like 7 classmates, and all of a sudden we started killing my cousin, bringing back my runite set. Although, he got so sad so my friend gave it back to him in the return of like 50k that he was to give to me. Just one of those memories I have from Runescape. Bonus, back then I got my first runite scimitar, I was so hyped I went into Wildy thinking I was the king of the world... in just a few seconds I re-spawned in Lumbridge -.- I was so mad I wanted revenge to get my rune scimy back so I spent everything on a rune 2h as it was more powerful, I returned to wildy and spotted the same guy and within the minute I died to him again.. I was so destroyed I ran up to my bunkbed crying for an hour. Felt like the end of the world, truely.
