sloppy and loose so it don't lock up when it gets hot I build mine (any sbc under 4.060) .008 on the mains, .007 on the rods, piston to bore clearance .010 and run a high volume oil pump if you build a 400 add .002 to the bore for a 4.125 bore , might have a bit of blow by and smoke but it won't die also big ring gaps! like .035 on top .030 on second and oil rings leave alone as long as there more than .020
Someone has to keep that stuff running ,your the best for the job and no one else can or could do what you do and i imagine many would agree with me , be careful and stay cool, i got a video ill message you of something you could use at work

Want an iñteresting project? When your mower body is rusted out, shop around your local repair shops for a scrapped unit with a useable body. An hour and a bit later you will have a good mower and a pile of extra parts.
The first thing I’d take out if I happened to buy a car I really liked…I walk away from cars with the side mirrors on the fenders instead of the door and gear drives..
Hopefully a good tune up will fix the misfire, a lot of times with these fuel injected 454s, they almost always have burnt/leaky exhaust valves or cracked heads.
Glad you found the truck you've been looking for. I just read it in the description. Let me say I know there's three of them sitting at. One is perfect paint. Great interior turn off the road for about 15-20 years. Why haven't I bought it yet? The old boy don't want to sell it cuz it might need something. He wants to go through it and take a look and then he'll sell to me for a price I would gladly pay for it right now. Ironically back in the day you can get these things away.
My parents had a white one when I was a kid, towed a horse trailer back and forth between Fort Erie Racetrack and Florida Downs lots of great memories.
I have ended up with this beaut. I’m trying to find the history of it like where it came from, what it was, etc.? Any idea on who I can contact or do you know some about it?
The guy that used to own it is the Sherriff here in town named pat that's about all I know about it, I worked on it quite a bit he used to drive it in parades and stuff and it was a nightmare to keep all the lights and stuff working that car really needs rewired and the engine rebuilt it has a low end knock when its hot , I have a spare engine for it and a carb if you ever need it
