Formed In 1980, The National University of Singapore Choir, a member of the NUS Centre For the Arts, comprises over 70 students and alumni from various NUS faculties who share a common passion for singing and choral music. The choir aims to promote choral music excellence within the campus and to external audiences by performing throughout the year.
Under the baton of Prof. Nelson Kwei, Singapore's premier choral director and voice tutors Mr Kane Teo & Mr. Reuben Lai; the NUSChoir continues to embark on its journey, expanding its repertoire to encompass even more diverse and challenging choral music.
The best version of Soran Bushi. I'm a choir singer from Brazil who has already performed a different version (which portrays the original) and I'm IMPRESSED! You guys are the best.
Just heard this wonderful piece of music on BBC Radio 3 driving along misty, rain soaked country roads in Cornwall. Lots of chaos and upheaval in life at the moment but this seemed to make the world at ease. Beautiful
O listen to the sounding sea That beats on the remorseless shore, O listen! for that sound will be When our wild hearts shall beat no more. O listen well and listen long! For sitting folded close to me, You could not hear a sweeter song Than that hoarse murmur of the sea. - George William Curtis (1824-1892) Thank you NUSChoir for a wonderful performance of this marvellous setting of Curtis's poem.
