Had to keep him home, and we did so well done Coach P! I do think he can be instrumental in helping draw another player or two (Jasper Johnson & Brandon Mullins most specifically) so I think the timing of his announcement (2 weeks or so before JJ's) might prove important. I feel like Pope really needs to keep JJ home as well, given he's a UK legacy recruit being former UK football player Dennis Johnson not least because it would be a MASSIVE start to the 2025 class.

I can’t wrap my head around the depth of this team. I expected to be thrown off when it seemed like we picked up 7-8 guys who I thought could’ve started, but I love that they all got some love tonight. Everyone logged legit playing time and everyone stays fresh. Gotta give that to PK and staff. As for the pro’s, I loved that we came out of the gate with a gameplan and never seemed to get out of line like how we’d have 5 guys in no man’s land last year. I love that up and down the roster we have guys who can bring the ball up the court and make a nice pass. I love the energy and pace - that was so refreshing compared to recent years. As for the cons, I can barely think of any, but I was missing some physicality in the paint. Lotta guys going up for loose ball rebounds which is great, but I’m still waiting to see who emerges as the Nanu or Trez who goes up for a RB and doesn’t let anyone else take it away from him. They compensated for this with a lot of mature movement on D so there were guys trailing who could sneak in for a steal or a block from behind, but I have to imagine that a team like Duke or UNC is gonna feed a big to test how strong ours are(or tease them into foul trouble). Also, FT shooting needs to be tightened up - 33% from a team full of shooters should be easy enough to fix. Lotta positives from this game and I’m definitely gonna sit back and enjoy this one. We’re just getting started and getting to know these players is gonna be fun. They’ll lock in once we’re playing a regular season schedule and the thought of it has me so excited for ACC play.
I dont want to get too deep over one game in July but there was a lot to be happy about in this game. especially coming where we are coming from over the last few years
They played very connected as a unit and it's very early so just think by ACC play after putting some more hard work in this team can be absolutely dangerous.
The team is prolific with 5th Year seniors, averages 41.2% from the three across 11 players, multiple defensive poys from their conferences, and lots of elite ball handlers, and varied offensive defensive schemes. We are more than excited to finally have the upper classmen that have been destroying our severely overrated spoiled entitled five-star primadonna Bratz who never leave it all on the court because Calipari told them to make sure they don't get hurt, because their draft stock is more important than winning this NCAA game.
