Hey Legends Thanks for taking the time checking my channel out. I started this channel to show my parents and family what I do on my time of. it’s not a midlife crisis in anyway. I feel in love with bikes at a very early age sitting on my dad's bike a 1973 cb175 in the shed dreaming of riding it not on the road but on the dirt. It’s defiantly in the blood as my dear beautiful pop who I dearly miss was a hwy bike patrol cop as a child I was in owe with him and wanted to be just like him on a bike. I got my bike Ls at 16 years 9 months old my dad gave me his beloved bike and here we are today 40 odd years riding still exploring and dreaming meeting new people. I hope you stick around as I love sharing my adventures.
Nearly the same thing happened to one of my friends a month ago. Several of us went on a backpacking trip and one friend lit his Jetboil Flash and then it began to flame up the same as yours did. He kicked it away because it was close to his tent and then he got his water to pour on it, and fortunately the flame went out. Now I realize if he hadn't been successful in getting the fire out it would have exploded. I didn't realize they could blow up like that. Afterwards, upon examining the stove, still attached to the canister, it was apparently cross threaded which made it leak. Scary. I think I'll cold soak my food from now on.
@@throttleridingadventures Yes, the seal does need to be replaced periodically. I don't think most people realize that. I have a new Soto Windmaster Stove and the user manual says to inspect and replace periodically.
Great viewing, guys. Excellent riding conditions that lots of riders shy away from but really miss out on a level of fun and challenges that 'ideal' conditions can never bring. I really appreciate you noting the track names. The CF Moto really does look awesome. I might have to test ride one..
@@plan_b_adv i try and share my rides letting people know so they can experience the same routs if people want the gpx file ill share on messanger on my fb page .....cfmoto 450 is good for the $ you dont have to mod up to much just ride it cheers
Howdy. Good to see you guys steppin up the technical technicalness of terrain. I've been talking to ADV BRETT a bit. I watched you both on his 1st ride on KATO. He stepped it up a bit on his latest solo ride but then turned around. With you for "Encouragement" he would probably keep going. Once old mate on The 450 gets his skills up he is gunna leave you big boys behind in that type of terrain. I'm in FNQ if ya ever come up this way let me know. I have some riding vids up amounst my varied variety of vids. I would love your feedback if ya feel like watching them. Caity is 22 years old so at least I would be immune to your new bike riding buddy crash curse if we ever ride together. Keep it real on the back real mate
Mate. Don't tell the boys this but you are obviously the smartest banana in the bunch. The 450 is the best option for that type of riding. As you improve you will find your waiting for them alot in the snotty stuff. And did you notice you could pick ya bike up by yourself and didn't need any help. The big boys allways need help sometime. It might get a bit buzzy at highway speeds but it will get the job done. I've got Caity 03 525 since new. I'll convert it for adventure if I start doing it. I've got some riding FNQ vids on my channel. I would love your feedback on them. There is a variety of stuff on there. Let me know what ya think if ya want to. Keep it real on the back wheel mate.
@@RandomRants525 my last bike was the ktm 500 exc i litrally could ride that anywhere ide ride those tracks we did with 1 hand on handle bars but it wasnt suitable for what we do ....
@throttleridingadventures Ya gotta have the right tool for the job. My dream ADV is the OG KTM 950 the less electronics the better. They only use 450 for Paris Dakar now. Too many big bore injuries. Like I said you made a wise choice. It takes a great man to humble himself and make the head choice and not the heart choice. Have fun bro.
Geez, that was full on!! I haven't got the tyres or bike for that stuff, would still be bogged somewhere in there if I tried it 😆 A great adventure mate. I did ride through a few Myall Lakes trails in March - wasn't quite as wet but still a few slippery hills.
that was a challenging ride! Slippery as hell and tricky creek crossings all pretty tough for Brendo's new bike (running it in the hard way) Mark good tracks though and fun
Hey it looks pretty slick from here. You had to up your graphics game since Brett got his shiny new toy huh?😆 I’m thinking of doing the same with my 1290, it’s just hard finding the right one.
@@BigDaveTALKS the T7 have nice graphics online the graphics i originally picked wifes like you cant get that i sould of just got it now ...i might order a new set now put on over xmass on the break fun and games
I've locked up my rear break, rally mode and off-road mode disables the rear wheel ABS. I locked mine up because a guy stopped in front of me and I was going way too fast to stop but thought he was going to turn in front of me, so I locked it up and slid on my side to a stop on gravel.
Brett would 100% more enjoy off road riding with a smaller capacity motorcycle. Start on a manageable, light low powered motorcycle that allows the rider a huge amount of reaction time between staying on and coming off…121 bhp (99Nm) is no place for a beginner on dirt. Stay safe and good luck
@@scottaubrey8392 yeh he was good on so the ktm is like 60kg lighter keep in ind 80ks pn ktm brfore slidimg off hes been riding it to work this week hes all over it ....ee do long rides so a smaller bike isnt on the table
That makes no sense. The amount of brake fluid between the master cylinder and the brake calliper doesn’t change because you’re removed some brake fluid out of the reservoir. If this is a new bike I would say he’s not used to dirt roads or he’s not used to proper dirtbike boots.
Haha i dont know how to answere that but we are working on it comes down to head space and nerves good news bretts riding to work and he is all over it
Hey Paul, I flicked it into Rally mode which turns it off automatically and what I should have done is gone back into the settings and re-activated it within Rally mode. My mistake, I take ownership of that and learnt a hard lesson from it.
Which Motoz Tractionator tyre were you bagging out? I've only heard good things about them, except that while the Tractionator Gps will see you back home without a tyre change on a long tour, it can be quite sketchy on loose gravel/wet stuff.
@@nevillegreg1 you answered your own question tractionar gp are sketchy they are damgerous in wet and dirt .only good on long straight roads ..for what we do 100% shouldnt be on the bike rallz are what i run on the rear
I had the Tractionator GPS on the Africa Twin but found it very slippery and wasn't happy with the traction on gravel or mud. Made the change over to the Rallz and that thing is a beast!!
@@ADVBrett I've been very happy with the Motoz Rallz. Great on dirt and gravel. Don't know about mud. Pavement they seem perfectly fine and they last quite well (890 ADV R).
@@billroberts9182 Haven't tried them in the mud yet either but everything else, they were awesome on the Twin, can't wait to see what they're like on the 890.
What was his air pressure ? He was pushing it on that dry, loose scree. And still running the bike in ? I did watch Brett's vid, the pub was a good idea. Actually coming down that way in a few weeks. Good vid, food looked good. Where was that? I might put it in my route. Cheers from an old Central Coast guy.
@@ShadowVonChadwick i run around 22psi bretts bike was 80kls old very loose gravel on that road stroud pub was the one on the upload have fun legend watch the loose stuff
Looks like your mate just couldn’t feel the back brake and locked it up on rall mode. New bike, might need to adjust the lever. Gotta stack it sometime so it may as well be the first ride I guess. Alls well that ends well.
You can see the revs fall to zero the moment it locks. Having just come off a DCT bike... Looks like a brain reprogramming is required. Pulling in the clutch would probably have fixed it.
@@gasdive there you go someone spotted 100% there it is gold star to you legend only one who has spotted that go to my fb page send me a message with you name and address i want to send you something 5.5 k views you spotted it 🤙🤙
@@ADVBrett it's not surprising. Most of what we do is programmed in. So it's not a mistake. A bit of time back on a clutch bike and it will be second nature again. I switch back and forward between an electric and a petrol without a problem now. The first couple of rides I was going for a clutch that wasn't there on the electric and stalling the petrol bike.
I have ridden those roads numerous times on V Storm 650, DR 650, KLR650, TDM900 & Versys X300 and bicycles. If you took the turn to Wards River, you could have seen the lovely lady who runs the Cambodian Street Food caravan cafe. The food is amazing.
@@ADVBrett thanks for the invite but I no longer ride the dirt as arthritis has taken over my body. I’m actually in the process of deciding what my next bike will be and have to sell my TDM and Versys.
Awe not to be harsh but that's adventure riding! Gotta agree with one of the comments about all the ride aid electric crap, takes all the adventure out of adventure riding. Maybe try standing when you get into the loose stuff, you will have more control of the bike that way. I even have that problem and still working on it. Have yet to drop it at speed but in the back of my mind I know it's coming. Only hope not to mess my bike up too much. My friends tend to go all out everywhere we go and I like to just travel and see the scenery with the occasional blast down a road. Kinda no fun when you're haulin ars and miss all the beauty.
Im old school all that electric stuff is off on my bike been riding over 40years was introduced to abs on my 2003 gsa1150r turned it off 1st ride on thr dirt every moder bike its off .....100% not out to race all about views and taking it in
