Are the neck of these guitars build similar to a Strat shaped neck because i haven't been a fan of Wizard necks. So that's why I have been contemplating buying the Js 140.
@trevorshear7737 you're welcome dude. That's what makes a lot of people really like the JS series and the body contours make it really comfortable to play.
@@JeffWeaver87 ahh ok my only video was from a old LG phone - going to see how my Panasonic camera with an accessory I purchased sounds next - I am so slow at doing this stuff : ) thanks Man!
Hello there, just a small tip. I think you should not film yourself moving in the rocking chair. The constant movement makes it really difficult to watch. Take care!
Nice looking guitar man. Can't go wrong with a Prestige. I got a prestige RG2550Z about 10 years ago and it survived heavy gigging and stays in tune to this day.
I’m currently waiting for my Ibanez prestige 8 string to ship today (Lightning Through A Dark) which I loved when I first found a place that had a tester. Was not financially able to at the time. Now I can’t wait, the wait was definitely worth it. And I loved that guitar after I seen them launch it at NAMM. Keep it up. \\m//(-_-)\\m//
@@JeffWeaver87 hey, it’s more of a niche, if you want to have the lower registers but still want to stick with the familiarity of a 6 string, a baritone guitar will work great as well. But I agree 100% with the prestige statement. Those Japanese luthiers really focus on detail/quality.
I prefer zzounds. Just got a Charvel pro mod dk 24. $114 down, $114 a month no credit check. Came set up out of box, intonated, neck straight. Second guitar I got from them. Have a couple videos on my channel with it, same strings straight out of box. Will say the neck on the schecter I got from them the neck was bowed, but easy fix. And it's a $550 guitar compared to $1250 for the Charvel. But yeah guitar center is a dumpster 🔥
@stormbringer197 I got both Ibanez js guitars I had from zzounds and had a great experience. I prefer Sweetwater because they offer a setup but guitar center never again dude NEVER again
@@JeffWeaver87 For sure. I considered Sweetwater for that reason but preferred not to shell out that much cash at once plus another Hondo for a set up. I was worried about what shape it'd show up in. But luckily it was set up, not to my specific specs, but set up. Has a factory tag with names of who did assembly, wiring, and set up. I was definitely impressed with it.
get the majesty from sweetwater. 55 point inspection. signed by the 2 people doing the inspection. comes with the guitar. and sweetwater cares deeply about their customers. i just got a caparison demo, from them.. marked down from like 3300 to 2100.. and they literally wouldnt stop bugging me about if i liked the guitar. lol. which is fantastic.
buddy.. next time order your guitar from sweetwater. they do a 55 point inspection on any guitar thats semi expensive. i just got a caparison FX AM 7.. $1100 off.. because it was a demo. it came in superb condition. if you got a majesty from them, i assure you it would come in perfectly. guitar center is awful. i would never purchase anything from them. they're a large company that simply doesnt care anymore. sweetwater contacted me like 5 times wanting to know how i liked my new guitar.. lol. they wouldnt leave me alone. thats the type of customer service you want. bad ass guitar, by the way.
@zaibatzu32 I run a peavey triple x 2x12 combo set to the clean channel and the distortion and delay are controlled by a boss gt100 that I spent a good while programming
@MR-lt2oj I had 2 that I bought and the tuning stability was horrible even after nut sauce in the slots and saddles and keeping the strings at ernie ball 10-46 and the intonation was off on certain chords even though it was good on my tuner. I used a korg and Peterson strobe tuner
@@JeffWeaver87 I am glad your assessment of the Majesty was based on the store, not the manufacturer. I own 7 EBMM guitars, 5 of which are Majesties, and I can tell you they all are great, including the one I got from Guitar Center - however, that one was brand new in the box and nobody had ever touched it. I showed up the same day it happened to appear at that store haha. I can't tell you how many guitars I have gotten 'new' from Guitar Center that were just... off... even with how many I have purchased. New Guitar Center guitars that I've purchased from them (not brand new in box, but 'new' in-store), I am down to one, and I am strongly considering selling it. PRS SE Custom 24 in Eriza Verde Quilt. It plays fine, but... again, something is off.
@OfficialDreamTheater I went and swapped this one for the enchanted Forrest and same exact issues as this her majesty's request. It's gotta be that store not taking care of their stuff. I traded it back in for a Ibanez prestige and it's perfect even after hanging on the wall. If it is EBMM they need to seriously get it together because I know petrucci wouldn't stand for stuff like that
I had a cheap used ESP KH 202.... The Floyd rose setup was horrible... would have cost more to fix it correctly than it cost... (200) It was the first "Decent" guitar I I ever got...
@CarsCatAliens yeah man i had the same experience with 2 kh202 guitars and that majesty I'm playing has been sent back for a Ibanez prestige. The two majesty guitars I had were horribly setup. I will have another one from Sweetwater one day though
What drew your attention to the guitar? And more importantly, TO YOU what makes this a dream guitar? And money is no object, what would be your ultimate, never thought it would happen dream dream guitar ? And why ?
Self taught as well and it def holds me back. It feels like I have to relearn stuff I already know and its hard to get the original ideas of how I learned it into the actual. A very knowledgeable guitarist who knows his theory to a T told me to make sure you have fun cause sometimes theory can suck the fun outta playing.
@Timjohnrob yeah that's very true I I've just always felt I should've learned it back when I first got into petrucci and satch and vai just to have the knowledge they have
I’m a self taught guitar player too mainly who focuses on live performances of whatever song I’m playing so I can try to match how they play it live so don’t feel bad
