Yes the paint used for this is called dry fall paint and the idea is it dries before it hits the ground and you can sweep it up. I was not impressed with the drying ability as we had to scrub very hard to get it up.
I used PPG drywall paint but wasn’t impressed with its drying ability before it hit the floor. We had a lot of cleanup work and it took months to get most of it up off the floor and around the facility.
Haha, they made it sound so simple, it dried alright but on the floor and not while taking. The facility was air conditioned so maybe would have done better with hot dry environment but I would have thought low humidity would have been the biggest factor
Dry spray meaning start and stop marks on vertices siding on a lift ? Only thing I can think of is maybe a paint extender or water slow down the dryfall time
Hi, I’m not an expert but would think if you could get extender to prevent from stopping and starting side to side motions and just do one continuous motion with extender that might help.
Great job, we are going to do it in our warehouse, and got the most equipment from you link. And could you up the link for the extended line in video 6:13 where the gentlemen spray standing in the ground, what tool is that one?
Awesome! Thats great you have a project coming up. Glad you found the most of the products. The pole we are using towards the end we rigged up. We used paint extension pole and then zip tied the sprayer to it. We had to zip tie the sprayer handle which was only bad part so it was not something you could easily stop/start. I think they sell devices that do this but in our case we just rigged something up as we were running out of time and it was quicker to do from floor than on lift. Good luck!
I use to do this years ago. Having things on the floor to maneuver around eats up so much time! Luckily for me most jobs were new and had few obstacles. It pays really well though!
Agreed 100%, I can only imagine how much faster it would be to paint new construction with minimal prep and few obstacle’s. Definitely would have to charge more for occupied spaces
I used small rollers to apply and a small brush to get into tighter spaces and used rustoleum industrial enamel paint. This paint sticks to anything and worked really good.
I just bought one, it seems to not seal tightly where the top black meets the bottom red. It sits tight where the clamps go. But at the north and south end, there’s a 1/8”-1/4” gap. I see in the video, your vac has the same issue. It seems it may need 4 clams, (two more, one at the north end and one at the south end). Does yours leak any dust?
I’ll have to check the gap but I have not had any issues with dust leaking or suction problems. I do use a dust collection bag when I am vacuuming dry stuff.
I believe we were quoted around $40k which did not include the pipe painting. We ended up DIY which probably was not done as good as a professional but we were able to just supply the materials and rental equipment for around $7k. If we could go back would have used a primer on 1st coat but overall turned out great.
Great advice, I was trying to do true unboxing videos but I have realized that it would be much more useful to the viewers if I know more about the tool when discussing it. Future videos will be better
Thanks for the review. Just ordered one to get my m18 batteries going. I got a Milwaukee linetrimmer and a drill and i don't use both of them very often. The led lamp helps keeping the batteries in use and it discharges them smoothly. Win! Best regards!
Hi fella..I'm about to take on a 15,000 sqft unit that's similar. 26ft to roof appx. Similar beams. Empty though and all being painted black (gym). This video might just save my ass from cancelling the project. Doesn't need to be finished to this standard..just good enough to tidy up and get us ipeny
Best of luck! We were amateurs and although not perfect it turned out pretty good. The hardest part I underestimated was prep as we were in oily/dusty environment and wanted to make sure we had good adhesion.
Finally, a video of the Hackzall where someone's using the proper blade to match the task. The blade you are using is geared for wood that may contain nails or screws. However, if you are strictly cutting limbs and small, small trees, there's a faster blade that can be used. It's the Milwaukee fast pruning blade 48-00-5232 . It has much larger teeth with deeper gullets to move more material out of the cut. This blade cuts much faster with the results similar to an electric chainsaw cut. Its teeth are carbide, so you're gonna want to make sure you're cutting into wood where there's no chance of metal, like old rusty embedded chain link fencing. Great video. The best I've found using the Hackzall for pruning.
I should have tried to fix it and you are right probably just a fuse. I wanted a new one either way though as the hot plate surface was really bad and chipping.
We were amateurs doing this ourselves but I had someone bid it for around $40k which was a while back so probably more now. That comes to about $3+/sqft Good luck 90k will keep you busy
if it is new roof deck , no cleaning, too much masking, pretty empty space/easy to drive around pretty good painter should be able to do 2500-4000 SF a day. I charge $0.60-1 a SF with dryfall and 1 coat (99% of time you can load the paint to cover in 1 coat)
They are handy tools. I was gifted my first Milwaukee, so I think it's whatever brand you start with you end up sticking with for battery compatibility.
Milwaukee vs ryobi: The main difference between the Milwaukee FUEL line and regular brushless tools is the level of torque and drive power. The FUEL range is considered the best of their brushless power tools. FUEL tools have all the benefits of brushless motor technology paired with the most power possible.
Sorry this was an internal job and we are amateurs. I did have it quoted for around $40k not including pipe painting. We did this internally at our company for around $7k which did not include labor. Hope that helps some
I had worked on some of the prep work for a couple of weeks prior but the majority of draping, painting, cleanup was completed in 3 long work days. We got a late start as we had to spend more time blowing off with compressed air in some area that were dirty which put us behind.
So glad to come across this video… answered some questions I was wondering about…. Thank you for sharing this… great work and thank you!! Oh did you have issues with the sprayer running a 50ft hose ?
Glad you like it! Are you planning a similar project? I did not notice any pressure changes using a 50 ft hose and 517 tip. We are amateurs but the equipment we used seemed to work pretty well. If we were doing this professionally, I am sure we would upgrade equipment but for a onetime thing it worked just fine.
Great do it yourself job, but you get what you pay for. Starting with the color, yellow thats supposed to be white. Now you can really see all those trusses and beams, lol.
Thanks, I agree it could have been done better but our company did not have the budget to get it done professionally so it never would have happened if we didn’t diy. Plus it looked so bad before it could only look better. If this was a grocery store it would stand out more but with it being industrial building it doesn’t jump out.
Mine works but it did take some getting used to as you can see me struggling in the video. It is easier now. If it's really hard or won't let you at all I would reach out to Milwaukee to see if you have something defective in your trigger.
Luckily this was an internal job where I worked so we did not have to come up with a quote. We just estimated the cost of the paint, materials, and rental equipment. Labor was included since everyone working was an employee and already getting paid. I had a vendor quote it at around $40k which did not include the pipe color painting. Hope this helps some...
This was an internal job but I had someone quote it at around $40k which did not include the pipe color coding. We did internal job to save money but also work with our schedule since we are 24/7 and rare for us to shut down for more than a day or two. We did it internally for about $7k which was materials and lift rentals but since it was internal labor was already covered. Hope that helps some. If you got any specific questions let me know! The place we were painting was around 12,000 sq-ft.
I really wanted to buy one same size n all but I don't like the blade position to the right, I like to be able to see the blade as I'm cutting, do they build them all on the righr?
I was in your same position. They do not make the 7-1/4 with the blade on left. I debated as visually it makes sense to have it left but I wanted to go with the bigger size and also you will get more saw dust thrown at you with the blade left. I think it’s what you get used to as well. They do make 6-1/2 with the blade left but like you said not in the 7-1/4.
I have this saw for 2years + and she have held up freaking well i have work under rain a lot under snow under hot sun and so on. The power is there i rip pressured treated like it was nothing and the baterie last i went from deaalt flevolt to this i hate flexvolt now . Very nice saw
Great to hear you are still loving this saw 2+ years later! I almost went with Dewalt as my tool brand but was gifted a Milwaukee drill/driver combo and happy I chose Milwaukee.
I’d highly recommend using a 12in extension on your Gun for a little longer reach and the end usually has a swivel you can adjust to any angle for those hard to reach spots
@@nothingsimpostleble1593 I am not nor ever claimed to be a professional, but I would say doing this project for 90% less than what I was quoted turned out just fine. This is industrial machine shop so doesn't have to be flawless. Thanks for your opinion 🥱
