PSA to those in need of help...Keep in mind that this establishment is a business first. Making a profit is their top priority and trumps all else. They charge in the order of $1000 a day or more to save a life and will not save a single life if the money isn't there. I've seen people kicked out onto the street days into treatment because their insurance denied coverage, even when they were in a very bad place and desperate for help. Other's were denied treatment altogether because their insurance wasn't up to par. No money, no help, no exceptions! Furthermore, if you do have good insurance and wish to leave after your detox period is up, good luck with that because they will hold you captive so long as there is money to be extracted from your insurance. I have seen this turn very aggressive. This is the Hotel California, know this before you even call. About a year and a half or so ago they decided to "clean house" and terminated many of the most valuble employees, the fitness personal trainer, the pastor and many others who were amoung the most beloved and effective staff in the opinion of the patients there and it was all in the interest of raising profits. Many of the remaining staff are not up to par, for example I can name several counselors who will regularly fill their 2 hour primary group, which is supposed to be the true heart of your recovery, with something like a 3 mile walk down the near by bike trail or they will utilize a premade activity that required no thought on their part, just so that they can sit back and chill for the better part of the 2 hours that this group is scheduled for and offer very little if any therapeutic value to the patients. Walks and for fun activities should be offered but not substituted for a meaningful primary group, perhaps they could take place at a different time. It is very difficult to get any meaningful one on one time with ones assigned councelor and it seems as though they are often very difficult to locate and this is a problem because for just about any request that one might have they are told to take it up with their councelor. The patients themselves are the most valuable resource there in reality, because the peer led geoups are the most heavily attended and the ones ehich garner the most patient participation and you will gain access to the same like-minded folks by attending your local AA or NA meetings for free! Most of the healthy food items were slashed from the menu about a year and a half ago. No more healthy salad bar. Instead, you get a salad with iceberg lettuce and a grape tomato. For the money being charged, there is no excuse to skimp out on food. The detox period is lacking and subpar and consists of very little. For example, if alcohol is your drug of choice, you will be given a set course of a benzodiazapine titrated over a period of between a few days and a little over a week, depending on the patients abuse history. After that point, your remaining 3 weeks there will consist of just meetings and listening to others complain about how they feel trapped or misled by the facility.

It's hard to overcome because the psychosis seems to persist even when not using... impatience is a big issue. So even though the that one symptom (psychosis) may resolve in time, it's hard to not seek relief immediately. Of course more meth doesn't resolve the psychosis at all. It just removes the horrible depression that accompanies it. Knowing that you effed up your brain can be a hard fact to cope with.

In my opinion there are very few times where a synthetic medication is truly needed. It was not till recent history that we have had such an epidemic of mental health problems. What has changed? Look at the industrial revolution. There is a reason why the stereotype of hippies exsist. Eat whole organic nourishing foods instead of processed, additive filled, never breaks down products, Stay physically connected with your community like in person not through technology, Stay grounded as in walk barefoot on the earth and keep your mind on reality, Get your sunshine istead of your screens, Get your excsersize instead of sitting at a desk. Do something creative that you love instead of grinding at an endless job you hate, Get a good reatorative sleep instead of working all night. There are so many studdies on various aspects of life that show definitively that certain things help with your health both mental and physical. A lot of health problems both mental and physical can be traced back to nutrition deficiencies and a tone are linked to vitamin D deficiency. We get that from the sun but we are all in class rooms or work buildings, or on our couches inside so we don't get the vitamin D. Frick I could go on for a while about the ways you can avoid synthetic medications specially for your mental health. Hell just cut out cane sugar and the food additives and the likelyhood that your anxiety will become more manageable is 100%. May not "cure" you but thats where good habbits in other areas come into place. Like getting enough deep sleep. Withoutthe right amount of sleep the brain can not function and then we get problems. Anyways medications do have their place though. If you have severe difficulties coping even with the help of a loved one to even get started in caring for yourself then yes medication can help. But know that most of the population simply has an imbalance in their body that when properly cared for can be realigned. There are very few with a truely "broken" scale where a medication is the only way out. You are loved and you are worth being here dispite your gelatinous meat sack trying to tell you otherwise. Honestly that could be parisites talking mean to you not just your negative experiences that wore a canyon of negativity into your brain. Baaah, start googling natural ways to help your self and you will learn to love yourself. I can't type everything here. ❤

I haven’t done it in almost 2 years and out of nowhere cravings. I can start and stop any drug on a dime but this one scares me the most because it’s not easy to quit and if I were to decide to fully submit - I know it would take everything away from me. Destroy my family and my future because it’s that great of a drug. I don’t look like the typical user at all but I can’t stop thinking about what I’d do if I found some. If somehow it got into my home. It’s better to never know what it’s like, because it never really leaves you - the desire and the memory never goes away.

I'm over a year sober and I'm absolutely miserable. And I was a heavy drinker for many many years. My girl dumped me after 5 years,I'm afraid to date sober now,my friends are all gone,my social life is over,I'm crabby and tired all the time. I was definitely happier with alcohol in my life. If things don't change soon,I'm gonna eat my gun.

And honestly, this is posted by the recovery center of America.…?. WTF is wrong with the recovery center of America that they are posting something like this. This is so inconsiderate. We get it that we go in circles, but this is so awful that you post this on RU-vid for people to watch laugh at, and maybe it helps a little bit, but this is poking fun and hurtful and mean. The man in this video should feel horrible for himself. He’s probably some serve counselor doctor. He should be ashamed that he’s on RU-vid mocking somebody with an addiction. His stupid little face twitches obnoxious, and unprofessional. This video is unprofessional.

Yep that’s correct only I’d even go so far as to say even just snorting powder cocaine is almost no different either. Crack and cocaine are the exact same thing chemically. It’s just method of ingestion that differs. Snorting it lasts longer not only because typically you’re doing more cocaine but it’s also the fact that it takes longer to really hit you and even when it does it’s not all at once whereas smoking it delivers all of it very quickly. You’re ingesting it all in that smoke within seconds. Quicker high but doesn’t last nearly as long. So yeah crack cocaine it’s all same mane

All it takes is that first hit for it to take control of your head and send your life in a downward spiral. the first time you're gonna feel in paradise and even listen to birds singing away it's gonna be like trying the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden but without the shame and guilt you're gonna literally feel like floating and all of your senses will be mighty heightened, you're gonna feel the wind fckng caress your skin and you'll literally feel in tune with every follicle and hair in your body, you're gonna feel wanted and desired in a lascivious way adrenaline pumping through your blood like never before, electrical waves hit you're brain and then all your body from head to toe and it'll be such a nice tingling sensation, your lungs are gonna open up so wide that it'll feel like you're flying above the amazon forest it'll make you feel like you're the last fckng coca cola in the desert it'll throw all your inhibitions away your fears and worries will all dissappear and it's gonna be a heavenly bliss for hours, you're gonna feel mighty superior and powerful literally like a god on top of the world soaking up every bit of universal existence but eventually you're gonna want more from it to get that same phenomenal sensation you experienced the first time and it'll turn into a vicious miserable cycle, food won't satisfy you anymore sleep is gonna get messed up family and friends will not be important for you, your job is gonna get super boring and monotonous your managers and supervisors will turn into your nightmare, sex won't satisfy you unless you're high, all of the things that once gave you pleasure and happiness will not matter anymore because the amount of pleasure you think you got from meth will be so indescribably fckg high that it won't surmount to anything that once gave you pleasure and fulfilled your life before but in reality what meth does is sort of hijack the sectors in your brain responsible for producing and promoting pleasure, happiness and well being through the production of dopamine and instead of you seeking happiness and pleasure through healthy means meth will be able to give you all that instant gratification and euphoria like 100 times higher combining all of healthy activities you used to gradually perform on a dalily basis in order to get that dopamine working and have a sense of wellbeing and satisfaction but having your dopamine depleted by meth your brain starts telling you why do those healthy and boring things when they're just one hit away. Life starts to become pretty sad, depression and anxiety starts to kick in, when you're home alone you're start crying for no reason, all you wanna do is sleep and when you wake up all you think about is meth, meth will slowly deprive you of your wish to thrive and success. You'll go from living live to survival mode, it won't matter to you the kind of people You'll hang out with as long as their addicts, You'll start calling in sick for work, you'll start pushing your good caring friends away to make place for people that will slowly destroy you emotionally, your morals will dissappear, eventually you'll need a drug to bring you down from your insane highs perharps weed, ketamine or fentanyl at times you'll wanna just do a bit of everything together because with each high it'll be harder and harder to get that amount of pleasure you're after. your place is gonna start looking like a chaotic disaster your dirty laundry to pile up. The person you've been dreaming of dating will finally arrive but you won't even care to notice he/she is interested in you because you got engaged to mr/mrs Tina. Whatever dreams or aspirations you have will slowly fade away and badabadum badum all of a sudden you're gonna start feeling persecuted, going to the supermarket is gonna be a mission because everyone at the supermarket is conspiring againts you. you'll start using all of your savings on ordering food online because you'll feel like the fbi and even nasa is closely monitoring every step you take, at home you'll start to search for cameras or speakers your roommate or the police installed at your house due the constant voices you can hear cursing you out or laughing at you you, you go from being nice to people to avoiding them at all costs, your nice roommate turns into your number one enemy, you even think all the gargabe trucks in the city are after you to embarrass you so every time you see one you just wanna dig a hole underneath yourself and bury in it, then you start losing valuable things, one day you're homeless at the shelter and before you know it you've lost all of your savings, all of your clothes and getting rid of everything because the level of stress, psychosis, paranoia, hallucinations the drugs have put you under was so intense that you thought that your lap top, your apple watch, headphones were being intercepted by the fbi so you decide to get rid of them and in the midst of all that chaos and confusion you get rid of your documents as well and all of your clothes, and just like that you end up getting arrested 3 times in less than two months and wandering the streets in search for food and more drugs while your loved ones desperately search for you because you got rid of your phone as well. That's only part of what happened to me cuz it was actually worse. I ended up loosing way more than what i mentioned and it took meth 6 years to mentally break me down but only 2 months to loose everything. Its not worthy kids and your strongest weapon is not to ever try it because all it takes is just one hit.
