Just throwing this out there for any other ford van owners. My issue was a loose oil filler tube valve cover adapter. It's basically a valve cover oil cap that screws into the valve cover and the long oil filler tube connects to it. It was very loose and just sucking air. I pulled it out, cleaned it up (it has a rubber o-ring. don't lose it) and wrapped some gaff tape (fireproof musicians tape for taping down wires) around the threads and reinstalled so it fit nice and snug. Disconnected battery for a few minutes then fired it up and drove it around for awhile. Check engine light stayed out, emissions flags all reset and I passed smog. Glad that nightmare is over.
Perfect. Shit i need this on my jeep hemi. I just deleted all mufflers to str8 pipe but sometimes its just too loud when i wanna be sneaky n shit. So this wouldve been an option i mightve went with...still might
Dodge put 3.09 gears in the Durango r/t they use 3.70 in the 6.4 Durango and jeep ...they use 3.45 in the 5.7 grand Cherokee 3.73 in the standard ram and 3.92 in the rebel package with the little bigger tires. With 3.09 gears you cant even catch a cold off the line and unless you are packing alot nore power to weight than the other guy you've lost bu 60 because you'll Never close that gap .
That's a lot of noise for a rig that can barely get off the line . I have a Durango r/t I like the overall style but it's slow as fuck getting off the line . My buddies ram rebel ate my r/t he gapped me by at least 2 vehicle lengths right off the line and 3 by 60 after that we ran about equal to 100 with that 3 car gap between us I couldn't close and only caught him because Mopar factory speed limits the rebel to about 105 . The current Durango is unibody just like the Grand Cherokee unlike older Durango that were body on frame so Durango should be lighter than the ram rebel 1500 . Ram rates the 5.7 at 395/410 the Durango and jeep only 360/390 but the real issue is they put shitty 3.09 gears in the Durango 5.7 r/t they put 3.45 in the jeep and 3.92 in the rebel , so the r/t has a 30.5 inch tire which is only 2 inches smaller than a rebels tire so 3.73 gears would be a fair equal but ... nope... Dodge gave the Durango old man touring gears for fuel economy. The SRT models get 3.70 gears this gearing is where the huge 0-60 difference is not simply horsepower that's why a rebel can gap a Durango with ease . The 3.45 jeep Grand Cherokee center diffs are cheap $200 or less each the 3.70 srt gears run $500-1000 simply because they are srt. So gentleman before you go making your Durango sound so loud do some work so you can at least gap a V6 Honda pilot off the line first. A good tune should get you around the rams claimed power and the gears should get you nose to nose or just a head 0-60 and 0-100 on the rebel but stock ...we suck...
