For me, my main concerns for Purdy were answered last year. 1) Can Purdy throw deep? His 45 air yard throw to Aiyuk early last season against the Cardinals proved that he can. I never questioned him since. 2) Can he actually develop under Kyle Shanahan unlike so many QBs that came before him? Yes. In spite of Kyle Shanahan still finding innovative ways to lose and coming off a serious injury, Purdy managed to find wins and big plays to counter Kyle's deficiencies as a HC and playcaller. Now my main concern is how will he improve this year. If he can get more control of the offense so that Kyle doesn't blow it for everyone again, then Purdy could very well begin another Niners dynasty.
it annoyed me how much Nick bosa carried where he would break free but the QB would just run to the opposite side with so much free time it felt like. with these new players I'm excited to see how much pressure they put on qbs
I think he'll have a good camp and preseason performance passing to Gray. They're college teammates, already have that chemistry. Good to have a familiar face around
I think to start season it’ll be a rotation between Jennings and Ricky primarily . I’m also high on Cowing, already seems to have great chemistry with Purdy. I’m unsure about who will be cut but the wr position has interesting competition
We are in 2nd in the whole league! We lost to the curr3 dynasty! We arent the only team with incredible players! Only one team and can and we came in 2nd! We have a chance next year. If we change coaches and miss the playoffs now what? Or lose in the first round?
Staley said. "I think it'll be kind of a combination of all my roles in the NFL, but I'm going to be working primarily on defense... "And that encompasses a lot of different things, but if he needs something, then we've been able to connect and collaborate on that, and that's a big part of the role that I was excited about.".... The protracted time between Staley's initial interview and being hired, he said, had to do with what his role actually would be - perhaps because SF was attempting to steal the KC defensive coordinator. They failed to buy Shanahan's nemesis, so they hired another brilliant tactition to counter KC. They had Shanahan's number so he is adding a Staley wrinkle. Yes he will help the defense, but I am still convinced he will be the secret weapon on offense
Nick Sorensen probably should’ve just been promoted last year. Kyle never gave Wilks ability to run defense to how he wanted and the differing play styles never meshed. Clearly Kyle wants a specific role out of his defensive coordinator and I think it’s harder to change a more established coach’s approach to the game. Especially since he’s been largely successful.
To be honest I’m honestly scared that Seahawks are gonna fuck us up this year. And they’re gonna go back to demolishing us.. if brock, Debo, or Cmc get hurt we’re cooked
I’m interested to see how they adjust to life without Pete Carrol . The hiring of Mike Macdonald is Interesting since most teams usually target an offensive minded coach now days.
It's not a bad, Unrestricted Free Agent signing, he could also make the practice squad, at the least. Hopefully he shows potential, with our WR room shortening by next season. Of course, it's also TO's son!! Like John Lynch said, "I believe in bloodlines".
At the end of the day Kyle shanahan is it going to be who he is and that is a stubborn ass coach who doesn't want an offensive coordinator and didn't tell his players about the new overtime rules allegedly in the super bowl it's ridiculous I'm getting tired of it all it feels like we're the new Buffalo bills we lost the last three super bowls its crazy 😂
The thing that’s frustrating with Kyle he’s has the skill to be an extremely successful coach and often shows it throughout the year, but still has not won the big one. So until he does it’s fair to question if he’ll ever have that ability. With that being said I genuinely do think he’s the best coach niners could get unless they somehow could trade for Reid. This entire team is built for how Kyle wants it to be ran, and in large part has been successful compared to most franchises. And if he can put it together that narrative changes into he’s the next Andy Reid.
