Why is half a mile up always more impressive than half a mile just walking to the corner shop ?

Roque Faneque in Gran Canaria is 1.028m. The top of this mountain's cliff starts aprox. at 940m directly to the atlantic ocean (28°03'44"N 15°43'11"W ). If this ranking considers Europe as a political region and not the European continent, this one is the highest.

Lovely video! And quite thrilling! I was at briksdalensbreen (the end part in your video) a couple of days ago and it felt surreal to see the glacier brake and make this thunderlike noise. last part in your video looks really scary, i almost shat my pants hoping you don’t fall from that cliff hahaha

It's not technically-speaking a 'sea-cliff' though, is it? It's more situated in a fjord or sea inlet. St John's Head on the island of Hoy, Orkney, is Britain's highest VERTICAL sea-cliff, because it sits right ON the sea, for example.

@rudolfblodstrupmoen341 2 года назад
It is 3 things , in the north you have a Fjord and in the south you have a sea "Frøysjøen" and if transelate to English it mean "Frøysea" and yes it is also a sea inlet to a Fjord and that is technically 2 reason why it is a sea-cliff ..sorry

Hugely impressed that you did this and by the quality of the video. Does the action camera distort how extreme it is? The entire thing looks like a date with death!!! I have used action cams in the u.k and found that they tame things that are lethal in real life,but can make tame sections look heart attack inducing. I tried climbing the Zugspitze a couple of years ago. Got to the Sonn Alpine no bother at all but then the weather changed and the entire mountain vanished so I had to get the train through the mountain back home. Not a happy bunny.

Absolutely. Anything out to the sides does stretch a little. That being said it is a very thin ridge that provides barely room for a foot or two in some sections. I find wide angled action cameras can actually have the opposite effect on other activities like mountain biking. In this case the action is happening in the middle so as the sides stretch out a little everything in the middle does not look very steep. It can very disappointing when you check your footage later! The weather can change up there so quickly. I managed to do the whole thing in about 4.5 hours only because I was trying to beat the clouds I could see rolling up the valley on either side. It turned out to be a good decision as the mountains were completely engulfed by clouds by the time I started descending from the Alpspitze.

They are runners! to be fair they probably have less grip than a pair of skate shoes though hahaha. unfortunately the hiking boots didn't make the cut on my bicycle.
