what would you advice for wood that has never been treated or stains. but you want it to have an almost white color before you clear coat it. I'm wanting to build a bench that is contrasted between bleached out wood and either ebony or black walnut.
The smart thing to do would be to run the sink plumbing into the urinal to wash it out and not leave urine in the bowl. I’m sure it smells really pleasant
I love the result! Thank you for sharing great details on the entire process. Been researching on how to achieve a raw wood look for my dining chairs and so far, your method is the best! ❤
I really like how you told us all of your trial and error throughout this process. They don't make furniture like they used to so I feel like refurbishing furniture is a must nowadays. Thanks for videoing all the hard work you put into this project and taking the time to edit and post this video <3
This is AMAZING! I NEED to have something like this to keep wet kiddos outside while swimming!! I’d LOVE more information on how you built the urinal and how it works to fertilize the flower box! I checked your blog but that info is missing.
I would also like to know this as well. Someone else said that it might smell. I was curious about that also, and does the pipe for the urinal just drain out under the flower box?
Your are a life saver! This is absolutely georgous!! The perfect natural look. I started tackling this oak dresser and I am tearing off veneer but it has a beautiful solid oak top drawers and frame. I will have to replace sides with an oak wood. Anyways, I want this natural look so bad. I have been watching videos for days and Bingo! Here it is. I am excited to do this now. Thank you so much!!
What a great video! We have all had those struggles with the raw look... that is such a beautiful bed. Looks so expensive like from a furniture store. A well worth labor of love! Thanks for sharing your process. Very helpful
Anna, sanding can work, but on the veneer parts, you may sand through the veneer before you can get the color you want. Also, stripping helps on curved parts that are difficult to sand, like the posts.
I really like the communication style of this lady, and the scientific/objective experimentation she does using different methods (so the viewer doesn’t have to watch seven videos about “the best way to…“ and trial/error each one out on our particular application
