Ted Lindsay is the most important hockey player in the history of the NHL. I say that as a Canadiens fan who hates Detroit. But his selflessness is to be admired and respected by every player in the NHL. I saw a CBC documentary about Lindsay and his efforts to start the players union when I was about 10 years old. It was then that I also learned that Gordie Howie was a complete selfish a$$hole for not supporting it. I hope the jacket Howe got from Jack Adams when he signed his low-ball contract was worth it.. Gretzky and Orr need a reality character check when it comes to their idol Gordie Howe
If scott Stevens translated this to basketball, he basically summed up what a power forward should do in the defensive perspective. Just as you don’t want an opposing forward to get an easy shot, its equivalent to not allowing a slam dunk
As a Leafs fan, I’m glad that they have a no excuses, hard nosed coach that will build great relationships with the players, and hold the players accountable when they need to be. I’ve always been a fan of his coaching style, and he was a mule when he played. I’m excited!
And yet here we are in May of 2024, in the middle of the 2nd round of the playoffs, and Benn & Seguin are performing the exact same way all of these years since this video! Jim Lites was 100% correct! To hell with what anybody else thinks. We Texans demand excellence!! Hey players, you're in Texas now where we demand titles in ALL SPORTS. Either bring them or get out!
Well, he was either poorly scouted, or his development was destroyed by the Canucks, either way,.. i think there's a big chance Canucks won't re-sign him in the summer.
No brainer for Kuch to get the Ted Lindsay here. His number 1 sidekick Stamkos was a finalist in back to back years both in 2011 and 2012 and in my personal opinion should've had the Ted Lindsay Award several year earlier in 2012. He became just the 20th person in history to get 60 goals in a season and he did it with a mediocre team. I believe that Daniel Sedin getting the Ted Lindsay the year before and Malkin getting the Hart Trophy in 2012 were right choices and I couldn't have been happier for those 2 and those respective awards in those respective times since i was rooting for them to get them in those times but the Ted Lindsay Award I believe should've went to Stamkos. To this day, I believe he was robbed hard in 2012 of that.
