I think that's true especially in bjj and boxing. In kick boxing we find Alex Pereira, for example, and in wrestling Bo Nickal, both with sufficient level to have been successful in high-level competitions in those disciplines. And there are more examples.
Looks like the guard passers vs leglocks isnt fully adapted to the times yet, but soon, the guard passing players of bjj will be able to counter leg lock entries more reliably and we will see a newer evolution.
I’m just really getting around to watching Craig Jones. I’m a bit of a casual so I thought Gilbert Burns was the best. But then I started seeing dudes like Demian Maia which introduced me to Craig Jones and I’ve fallen in love with this stuff.
And then you realise that even Craig Jones stands no chance against guys like Gordon Ryan, Kaynan Duarte and Marcus Almeida. The levels in BJJ are so clear.
@@user-ji7vn1ps8j Roger Gracie vs Gordon Ryan would’ve been amazing. But I think Roger only has one Kryptonite and that’s the unlimited power of prime Jacare back then
@@user-ji7vn1ps8j very cool to see a guy who does his work. Sadly most of these guy nowadays see guys like Khabib or Khamzat as the best grapplers ever because they don’t even know who Roger Gracie is…
O pessoal fala mal como falava da luta do Spider com o Demian Maya, que tb foi parada, quando os dois são atletas muito bons, quem errar primeiro perde, por isso, esses duelos entre super estrelas tendem a ser mais estudados e vencidos no detalhe.
Of all the matches I've ever seen with Rafa mendes this is his worst. Don't get me wrong he won just based on just being the most active of the two. The game plan I guess was to play bottom and it was not working, would have loved to see him using his beautiful guard passes. How About a dream match against Marcelo Garcia?
A intenção do salto que o durinho fez era exatamente passar a guarda para o leg Lock ou alguma variação de americana no pé ou botinha e, bem isto foi invertido 😞. Mas o Craig é outro nível.
