May i know the power consumption?, and how does the water heating method works? Do we put boiled water into the brew chamber or is it done trough heating element?
58mm Porta filter, 18g power. You could add cold water or hot water; up to you:) both are fine. This machine has a separate heating button on the top that can heat cold water to the desired temperature.Usually 88-93 ℃。 While heating, you can place your coffee cup above the brewer head to preheat it. Once the temperature stabilizes at your specified level, you can apply 4 bar of pressure for pre-infusion.
You mean the grinder ? It's the mahlkoenig EK43 shop coffee grinder www.mahlkoenig.com/products/ek43?srsltid=AfmBOop0zfq41zPVNhL6jqLBcUAr7RBpo0kZx2y-A4ppSWyDRMDXJj2m
It looks like a very nice product. Are you still using it for a while? Does it use standard 58mm portafilters you can use on other machines? Finally, what is that water chamber made of? It looks plasticky, so I wonder if it can withstand the pressure and the hot water after using it for a while. Thanks!
It depends on how you define 'small business.' :) If it's around 100-200 cups a day, I personally think it's more than sufficient. However, if it's over 200 cups, it might not be suitable.
That's a good question. I don't have an exact number of times the canister can be used, but so far, after more than 200 brews, everything still looks fine. :)
To be honest, I didn't pay much attention to it. I think the sound of the burrs touching each other that you mentioned might be caused by a small amount of leftover coffee. When I tested it again, I didn't notice any significant issues like the one you described.
Just picked one of these up as well close to a month ago for $260 shipped.....already modded the brewhead with 2 12v 18w stick-on heatstrips and a 12v 3amp adapter to power it, and a digital temp controller. Now i have a mini flair 58, and this thing makes GREAT espresso, I like it as much as my gaggiuino converted Gaggia classic pro.
