This video pinpoints a lot of stuff that a newbie would have no clue about. I know the 3-axis gimbal is ideal, but can somebody just rigid mount the camera system to get started and do OK? It isn’t clear how you download updates and other things needed to get this up and running. All in, if you do the 3-axis gimbal, you’re talking about $600? Thanks.
Hi Kodak! Thank you for the comment and I would be happy to help. Yes, you can just direct mount a camera to your RC car and be just fine. The issue with this is that without stabilization, the camera feed is extremely bumpy and can cause motion sickness and overall non-ideal viewing pleasures. It really all depends on what you want in the end. I have had FPV systems before without stabilization and I could only last about 10 minutes for I got a headache and had to take a break.
@@TheUserReview Is the range realistic on the ground? I have a RadioLink transmitter controlling my buggy and have gotten 1200 feet before my video broke up on my cobbled together system. It supposedly has a 600 meter/1900+ feet range. As far as cost is concerned, you can buy a DJI mini 4K and get a ton of range, with a FlyMore kit, for $400. It’s cheaper to fly, but I have to contend with windy conditions most days.

Castle x2 mini 1010 4300 kv motor car is great on 2s , 3s is a blast , 4s it is a monster crazy fast using tqi receiver and remote because that's what i had laying around still running stock gears just drilled out a pinion to fit Castle 1010 1/8" shaft

what kind of tonneau cover are you running I'm having trouble finding a good quality one that will fit my 4th gen. Also did you pay a shop to install or did you install it yourself?
@@kowen95 I might try again after I know how to do it now. I started filming a video for it initially but stopped as it was too difficult to film and work on the truck.
Love that truck. I have a 2015 trd sport that I have been going to put a 3 inch lift on every year since I bought it 9 years ago. Mabye I pull the trigger in 2025 lol
