Hey there; I haven't been doing much streaming or editing lately, but I was recently commissioned to make a short video segment that ended up at: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P5Cj-1tN-lY.htmlsi=CjM2lxZxI3YQXwgK&t=3336 hope you're doing well. I might stream the next Trekville "Incursions" if the timing works out.
Man I miss playing Terulia and FFO with you all. Of course the "unofficial" ffo has been down for years. I hate to ask but is there a copy of the hosting files anywhere?
@@suliscrew I found that Dricien's server is actually still up! It's just that his website went down. You can find the game IP under the BYOND entry for "World at War."
scopely will never create a 1v1 rule so enforcing one is almost impossible any ROE other than the bear min is dum... TC is a numbers game run cloaked ships if u can put the numbers together the rest doesn't matter
Why do so many people still play this blatant moneygrab that doesn't deserve the name Star Trek in it's title? All this stuff like takeovers and ROE doesn't exist in Star Trek Online, sadly STO is the only "ST-worth" game to exist as of now that is still maintained and updated. We really need a new Star Trek game, it's 2024 for crying out loud (Colonel O'Neill from Stargate would say that).
The short answer is that Scopely got the license, and they promote/advertise the hell out of it. The turnover is quite high, but there are just as many if not more new players being pulled in. The game as you mention is a moneygrab and quite lackluster. For a free-to-play player like myself, it's the other players within it that make the game worth playing at all.
It's been addressed at this point. just going to point out the neverending hypocrisy of posts like yours. People reasonably demand evidence to go along with ROE complaints, and then when that evidence is posted, suddenly it switches from "where's the proof?" to "quit crying and play better." I play just fine for a free-to-play mid-OPS player, who coincidentally took on the entirety of SFA on his own not too long ago, thank you very much.
That part with the: "X number of muguffin points and waiting 36 months. 3 years? 3 YEARS? Is this some kind of joke?" Had me in absolute years laughing for some reason 😂
Can't believe Markoni would just use some cheese to fuck over the Manchuria and then claim it's biased when people say it shouldn't be allowed. Smh it's like when someone justifies and the guy just releases the land he's justifying for
Pretty late to it all. I redownloaded LoE today (As of posting, in 2024), and it looks just the same. There are new characters, new questlines, and so on, however when it comes to moderation, well... It got worse. - The Entirety of the Moderation team is literally offline since 2020 or 2021, so when things go wrong, well, good luck finding a moderator. THere is one that was online recently, but I'm talking about '6 months ago' recently.
Thanks for the video series. "Games are a series of interesting decisions“ as Sid Meier said. The more decisions we have to make the more invested and interested we become. By decisions, I’m pretty sure he meant important decisions, not like spending 20 or 30 Magic points to make a boo boo disappear. Decisions like having to decide whether to take one’s core back from a rival the year before claim expires knowing that we’ll go over the BB limit and everyone is likely to pile on us. Still, we might go for it knowing that the outcome is uncertain. These are the decisions that will generate these amazing stories in your mind of your nations fight for survival against the invaders, and enable you to roleplay unique scenarios every time you play. The decisions are all important. I think it’s interesting that you made the point that EU4 resembles more of a mobile game because that’s exactly how I felt. It’s “everyone can become president” type philosophy that is synonymous with pay to win or other casual mobile games. Nothing to do with history which the original 3 games were steeped in. This is the same direction Paradox took with HOI IV and Vicky 3 which I won’t be buying. Interesting, thee design decisions happened pretty soon after Tencent, the biggest Chinese games publisher (mostly mobile games) bought a ten percent stake in the company. Let’s be real about what happened, they built a game for the Chinese inspired mobile market. I’m sure they are happy with their sales figures. I would disagree with one point you made however, IMO if you can find 15 reasons why a game is better than another, then I think you can stop wondering which is the better game. I have introduced three friends to EU3, now once a week we have an amazing time playing multiplayer. I help new players online learn how to play. While I know we will never see a true sequel I feel lucky that we have this, an imperfect, but awesome sandbox. I will playing EUIII for a long time yet.
I think you've identified the pattern but missed the wood for the trees. Obviously modern Paradox grand strategy games are still pc exclusive, theyre even more focused on the history nerd niche market and the dlc reflect this (even in the 2000s companies like Slytherin were making both derivative reskin to specific time period games and expansion hog cash cows long before Paradox. See any history game franchise) However there is an industry wide culture shift, as you more about player freedom and less about historic reenactment. However Id argue its easier to reenact history in 4 because of the many events recreating history directly, whereas 3 almost exclusive relies on base mechanics and certain nations just only being good at their original thing. In 3 every power has random land zig zagging europe and each opm has a colony in random parts of america, whereas in 4 the events keep things on point- but a player can break that
Lost a lot of hours on this thing (mostly because my saves kept getting dumped lmao) If you ever felt like this was just a dumb little thing and that it wasn't special, don't. Final Fantasy Online is an amazing accomplishment, and you should be proud. Give Super RPG a try, if you haven't heard of it! It's more in line with the SNES FF games, and it's one of the best-running games on the entire platform.
Is in short you think EU3 is better because everything takes longer, is harder to do, and requires daily sacrifices to RNGesus. Gotta say, hard disagree
Many of the core issues haven't changed in the base game as I'm aware, and I haven't played the newest EU4 DLCs, but I would say the capabilities of EU4 make it an improvement over 3 in general. With the improved capabilities, a mod like MEIOU & Taxes can create a better experience than, say, Magna Mundi, even though I would prefer Magna Mundi to base EU4. Nice profile pic btw.
@@Gakumerasara Thank You I was torn on whether or not to get EU3 complete on steam but decided not to due to cascading alliances but if Victoria 3 disappoints me I will change my mind
@@MichaelCollins-dl5om I'd recommend getting it when it's on sale. It's a good game but would take some getting used to if you're used to 4. It's a much less polished game.
I think uber is going to buy a fleet of ev's, and then drivers will be reclassified as employees... imagine that using contractors to collect enough money to buy fleet of ev's.
Firstly uncivilized nations have to civilize first to do reforms. Second you need high militancy and consciousness to pass reforms and if you're upper house is mostly reactionaries it will need to be a really high number to pass one. You can try switching to a liberal party manually to get things passed. Pops will also be more inclined to convert to whatever the controlling party is so this will help give you more pops that want to pass reforms as well.
The most important tech in social thoughts tree is biologism. Because it has an invention that give a whopping +50% education efficiency. Combine it with the bonus from the tech itself and you have +60% education efficiency from 1 tech. This is more, than the rest of that tree COMBINED. So this tech is must-have for any nations, especially with low education. And whatever is after that technology is not as important, but you still may grab it for extra education efficiency.
The Great Guide with high density of information, because I did the same (Imperator Rome), I know how is hard to did ... but I didn't find last :) and I feeling the same as it was with "A Song of Ice and Fire" (George R. R. Martin, where he wrote the most part of series :) but stopped before last series :))) In Any case thank you for your great work
Thanks for the comment. If you were curious, I recorded the bulk of what was to be Part 8 on October 12, 2021. It was 6 hours of raw video. I finished editing down about 4.5 hours of it. Then I put it on hold because I realized I would have to re-record large parts of it for the sake of clarity and completeness. I last worked on it in May of 2022. I had put aside time to work on it 2 months ago. But then I noticed Spudgun was working on a collaborative effort, meme-infused tutorial series. And then I looked at my subscriber count on RU-vid and realized I'm actively losing subscribers every month. And so, I lost what little remaining desire I had to finish it. But thanks for stopping by.
@@Gakumerasara I understand you very well, because I spent in summary near two month on Imperator Rome guides (and at finally estimated that I can't commercialize that, and therefore finish my work on this project, it on my other account with 35 Russian subscribers :)) (it's a local market that exist before War) but for me it was more like an experiment, which i plan initially finish at one week :)) )
@@Gakumerasara I checked the Spudgun channel and fully agree with you in your feelings :) The meme-infused series are more popular on RU-vid ... but your content is unique, because it's a real Tutorial/Guide which very useful for beginners, :)) but the most of RU-vidrs more love to see the play then self play (therefore the LetsPlay more popular than guides) ... It very unmotivate the peoples who make the guide (only sponsorship can help in this case)...Ultimately thank you for your great work (Paradox must be paid for it ... :) but Capitalists don't do it :)))
@@GakumerasaraGood to know that you have footage in the vault. Perhaps if you ever win the lottery and retire, we'll see it uploaded. I know I will be among the first to come running to watch. This seven-part guide has been what elevated my interest in this game from casual to obsessive. Exemplary work, and crystal clear, through and through.
Showed back up in my recommended on RU-vid. If only the current server had more players, I'd still be playing. Every time I play a FF game, I always want to go back to playing this instead.
22:32 My Victoria II has no such icon. The only way to encourage a pop type is by clicking a province on the map. Were you using a mod of some sort? Edit: Figured it out. It's a UI improvement in one of the DLCs. Paradox made UI improvements DLC.
Tip: using hussars to quickly move into openings and gather intel. This is how they were often times used in real life and the information can be very important especially in multiplayer.
