Oh cheese...........an ad right in the middle of the 1st movement. That's ok. I like this kid, he's great, but I don't like the somnambulistic tempo; and it's not rough enough. It's to syrupy and delicate. I feel like he's holding back. You have to spank this. Cut loose. The ponticello in 2nd is great.
so many lovely, refined and distinctive elements in Inmo's performance - and always with that liquid silver tone to undergird it all - nothing too flashy or overly-sweet/-dramatic, everything to serve the music. clearly the orchestra loves playing with him too. so inspiring, often brings me to tears listening to his music. as a violinist myself, grateful to hear such dedication, skill and passion for the great concertos - each that I have heard him perform on RU-vid recordings brings joy, wonderment, and stirs deep feelings of longing and release. I am moved also by his open gratitude and humility. thank you, Inmo Yang for your hard work and generosity!
