I've always enjoyed Rick Allen but his time in Cup has been a bit of a bust and it's hard to put a finger on exactly why. I feel like the emotion has been missing as of late because Lee Diffy has undeniably injected some and made the booth a bit more lively in short order.
I’ll never understand the dislikes towards Rick Allen. I mean yeah I think his SPEED days in Trucks were better, but man he’s been a good commentator. Not perfect, but good.

Rick allens best trait will always the natural announcer voice and the energy he brings, but leigh diffey still beats him in both categories and every other announcer category
