It would be a lot easier to get rid of free enterprise, and lock down who can charge what, LOCK the costs and fees for all products and services. No more supply and demand evil greedy free market, because of corporate greed and the right to charge what u want has destroyed our way of life.

Assange is delberately being held in prison with NO conviction by all parties. By the USA, by the UK and by Austraalia. They are all countires absolutely opposed to whistle-blowing who will ensure that whistle-blowers have their lives ruined by any means necessary. This is not prossecution, it is persecution and we all know it.

Our government is a pathetic joke. Not only has it failed utterly to bring Assange home, it has just put whislte-blower David McBride in prison for 5 years! Albanese is just another lackey of the USA. I expected better from the ALP than the LNP but I have been sadly mistaken. I will never vote for either party in future.

Weak Australian politicians are not even able to demand the immediate release of Julian Assange. The Weak Australian politicians are not even able to tax the resources and mining companies that lobby the government to subsidise their own business without contributing to the national economy. Qatar collects $68 billion dollars every year in taxes and royalties for all the people of the country. Alaska has been collecting taxes from their gas and oil companies. What good are any politicians that can't represent the people of Australia?

Thank you Ebony, Rachael, Matt and Greg for the report on the zoom seminar on the unpacking of the UNparliamentary performance of the ALP on the ability of Albanese et al to handle the STRUCTURAL PERFORMANCE IN THE BUDGET AND ISSUES FACING THE NATION. It is disappointing to see the holes in the issues facing the nation and promises, including the promises of the ALP to the nation prior to the last election. Congratulations to the Australia Institute for the presentation and for bringing the competency of the ALP to manage the national issues to the fore. One is forced to question the ability of whether the ALP is capable of managing the business of the nation, including the NACC, ASIC, GAS STRATEGY and corruption scandals of the Morrison government. Enough is enough!!! 💥💥😡🇦🇺🇦🇺🙏🙏. God help us all 🙏. 💥💥💥💥💥 24:04

Here’s a policy idea, how about we give me back my super so I can use it now or invest it in ETFs costing me .1% instead of paying 1% to the superannuation company. Get rid of subsidies for super and just pay more pension. We do it education, roads and hospitals why not pension. Can the government not compound its returns for the future? I bet we could double the pension tomorrow and that would be a good thing for everybody.

Paying off your house is not luck. Take time and hard work. Young people have always struggled in the early years. Today is no different. They start off in an organisation with a starting wage and not much experience. Let's encourage the young to work hard, upskill, get a good education, do an excellent job at work, spend less than you earn, save 50% + of your income if you are living with Mum and Dad, and to be patient. Saving a house deposit takes years, no different to me 25 years ago, then buy a house you can afford, not one that looks like mum and dad's house. Wages have increased a lot in the last 3 years. It cannot continue at those same rates otherwise we will find ourselves in a wage price spiral.

Let's sign FTAs with "Movement of People's" (DFAT, 2023). Outside the immigration projections cap. Send State delegations to most populated countries and spruik visa classes - nuclear plants need water, lots - hydrogen plants need water, lots And to quote Sir David Attenborough "Australia is experiencing desertification" (Seven Continents - Australia, BBC).

$300 power to all was very lazy and frankly a was of our tax payers money. People on $120k plus do not need a cheque for $300, including all the politicians. They could have easily means tested the payment once tax return was complete. I do wonder if the stage three tax cuts are going to increase inflation. That is around ~$25,000,0000,000 extra in the economy to spend/save/reduce debt. I cannot see how ~$2,000,000,000 each month in the economy will not result in people spending more money. What out RBA. Might need to put up interest rates again.

Labor trying to keep everyone happy is the wrong approach in my opinion. I agreed with Labors changes to the stage three tax cuts but they could have gone further. I don't agree with giving out rebates or cash handouts as they diminish over time because of rising costs. They are also subject to review year on year by politicians, who change their stance according to the opinion poles. Raise the rate of unemployment and pensions, raise the tax free threshold. These are permanent and give a bigger improvement over time because annual increases are % based. One more thing if the Reserve Bank is so insistent on have a permanent % of people unemployed we should be looking at a better way of supporting these people rather than the cruel and subjective 'Mutual obligation' nonsense that Howard brought in.

The critical issue with capitalism is the men's ownership of the land, which is God-made and not man-made. Inventors' ownership of his/her inventions makes sense, while men's ownership of God-made land makes the sense of anti-God.

I am truly disappointed in the Labor Party. They seem to think all is well so long as they tweek a little here and there. It is not ok that people who can't afford a home are subsidizing those property investors which include our pollies! It is not ok that people who can't afford private health subsidize those that can! It is not ok that public schools are funded far less than private schools! That's what we get though when the wolves are in charge of the sheep farm!

You need help in your presentation and communication delivery style as it's a very important message that here, sounds patronising and lacklustre - rather than using academic language use language that humanises the issue. Eg " work is not employment: unemployed people "work" (stay at home mothers, volunteers, homeless people helping others etc) but they're not paid for it under a "contract of employment ". Then - those who have "1 hour of paid employment" are being dishonestly counted by the Govt as "employed " which means millions of Australians starving and homeless are being counted as "employed" so every day Australians are being lied to" - your academic language jargon style video is not understood by most Australians- cut out the academic economic jargon and try Louise Mahler for your video and presentation style. Such an important message- made boring and confusing by academic language and monotone delivery 😢 millions of under employed and unemployed don't understand the language

The Australia Insitute has stuffed up again and conveys false message due to it's fatal errors of understanding what taxes are and what subsidies are. (No surprise). Susbidies are money paid out by government. Concessions are just reductions in the amount liable to be paid. They convey a totally false picture when confused or deliberately done to deceive. The OECD Inventory of support measures for fossil fuels across countries clearly states:- " Tax expenditures are estimates of revenue that is foregone due to a particular feature of the tax system that reduces or postpones tax payments (relative to a jurisdiction’s benchmark tax system) to the benefit of fossil fuels’ producers or users". The operative word is "Foregone" not collected or expended by government. This idea that there are are such subsidies for the fossil fuel industry is total B. S. because it leaves out the elephant in the room of the net total of revenue collects from the fossil fuel excise and taxes. The reality is excise duty alone on fossil fuels provides over 70 billion dollars in excise and tax. The so called subsidies put across in this video are NOT subsidies at all but merely a fantasy base on a stupidity of calling a concession a subsidy. The operative word is "Foregone" not collected or expended by government but the Australia Institute puts across these foregone taxes as Subsidies. .

Look at the statements of Richard Denniss:- "Are wages rising fast enough to help people keep their head above water. We need to ask ourselves what's happening to the price of essentials, what's happening to wages for low paid workers and if the price of essentials is rising a lot faster than wages for low income earners then we know we are pushing people into poverty" This just infantile rubbish that ignores the very economic conditions that create poverty in economies. The creation of poverty is the loss of focus on measures that improve industry efficiencies of those who produce goods and services. It is Not the relative low wages that result from a sector of the community as Richard Denniss thinks. Relatively higher efficiencies create more wealth in the economy. Not some politically based scheme like equalisation of wage disparities.

The "standard for interoperable social networks" requires a central planning committee to decide what features all social networks will have. It will move very slowly and they will make many mistakes that get permanently baked into the standard. Not only that, you have to deal with major interoperability issues because each social network will be working on a different version of the standard. Great in theory, abysmal in practice.
