My wife loves this song! She cries when we watch this movie on TCM! She wasn’t even born yet, but she is an old soul. She keeps me young! I dedicate this song to my beloved honeybun!
This scene came out in 1957, the year that Joseph McCarthy died. McCarthyism, at this time, was on the way out or it couldn’t have been included the movie. (Silk Stockings - 1957). This was a way for Hollywood to thumb its nose at Joseph McCarthy.
They never ever kissed in their movies. Fred's wife objected. She was always on the set making sure Fred & Ginger didn't become intimate. According to Ginger's autobiography she said one kiss was played in slow motion and it only looked like Fred kissed Ginger when it was just a close-up.
O M G I'm blessed to have stumbled accross this video. I luv it. Thanks so much whomever or whatever made that possible. Have a Happy Daze today and always. And enjoy yeealls journeys wisely ❤😊
In The War of Northern Aggression the outcome was as Rhett Butler predicted. Russia is the “Northern Aggressor” and has the same advantages that the Yankees had.
What a nice song, i sure hope it isnt played while showing prisoners being killed by other prisoners on the order of a druglord who goes by the name heisenberg
As a professional musician I have always been hyper-aware of the sheer precision of Ginger's vocal delivery. Her sense of time and phrasing is flawless; that stands to reason because of the way she perfected dance movement to rhythm in her films, particularly tap-dancing.
I never saw this movie before today....nothing on TV ... so I turned to TCM .. Ginger Rogers & Jimmy Stewart ... so I gave it a look ... this scene was on .. when the scene was going on, I cracked up laughing .. cause when that woman first slapped Ginger - I said "alright Ginger come on .." then it started, I was laughing saying "yeah Ginger smarten her up!!" And I always found Ginger Rogers cute too.... great scene!!!
