Quick question, my installer did the same thing, but now I’m upgrading to 85” tv and my tv is a whopping 55kg and I’m worried about long term stress on the mount. Should I be concerned?
Just my opinion but I would have mounted it turning it 90deg to face inward so you can still sit under the patio and watch tv . Then you also would not have had to use the support 2 x 4 and the mount could sit flush with the ceiling
@New-Breed-Drywall-And-Paint Yeah, that would be nice. The only problem with it was. The customer was remodeling the backyard with a pool and barbecue, etc. And wanted that to be the main viewing area from the yard. But good idea

Great question. The first thing to try is to plug the second strand directly into the outlet and test its functionality. Also, make sure all of the bulbs are screwed in tight. Please let me know what happens when the second strand is plugged After you try this let us know and we can go from there.
Thank you, we take a lot of pride in our work. And thanks for the question: The beam we attached to is very solid, and the TV although big is relatively lightweight. We did consider the wind factor and are in the process of installing removable clips and guide lines. But one cool thing is the mount rotates freely 180° so the screen acts like a weather vane and turns in the direction of the wind rather then a ⛵️ sail. Also it is in a complex completely surrounded by a big wall and trees.
Great Queustion... Even though the "outdoor TVs" are much much much better for this situation, they run about 10×-15× the cost. In other words, you could literally ruin 10 or 15 TVs for the same price as an outdoor TV. And by the time that happens technology is better and TVs are cheaper. When advising our clients, we take into consideration their budget, their level of want for the newest tech, as well as their long - or short-term goals for the project. Ultimately, we defer to their preference.
