The answer to the trivia question at the beginning is incorrect. Howlin' Wolf did not play Newport Folk until 1966. Bob Dylan had "gone electric" the year prior in 1965.
I remember jogging around the track in McCarren park Brooklyn and they were playing this in the old swimming pool live. My kid brother was inside at that show but it was great, I didn’t know who they were but could hear it and fell in love.
Me and my cat Syd, chilln watch old videos of y'all🎯 Love this, like, a lot. I always think of Neil young when I hear this 💜💜 u guys are where its at, man
That G chord is actually proper technique, it's meant to easily transition into a G7 or many other shapes. The normal G limits you cause it wastes a finger lol.
Normal G gives you a chance to play Gsus4 or even Gm (but it's hard tbh), oooor Gsus2. Sure that G chord can give space to change chord easily, but tbh it just doesn't sound as good as normal G
Honestly anybody criticizing his guitar playing is a moron. Everyone knows what a proper g sounds and looks like. But it’s his song and he’s an artist he can play it however he thinks it sounds best. Many artists switch up the “proper” way of playing all the time for what sounds best to them.
Finally!! I had the app when this came out and every BOH album that comes out I look for this song. Then I had a hard time finding this video for a while. I knew it was here now but I was happy to find it again just now and wanted to say thanks for uploading it after all these years. What happened to this song? I listen to every new album waiting and I'm always disappointed. Mandela effect.
This guy is cool. No kinky side though? Don't front like you haven't gotten nasty ideas when you are in the back of the ice cream truck with the Popsicles and the caramel syrup...
