Absolutely, they’re overly simple cars. And with my 15 Gallon fuel tank with the 1.8l SBI I’ve gotten close to 400 miles to the tank.. They’re roomy for the year that they are, you can lay the rear seats down for more room as well, not a lot going on with them. My only downside is(my model specifically) is SLOW you aren’t/wont win any races with the 8v hahah.. But I’d get a mechanic to look it over to see if it’s mechanically sound. Idk where you are located but Ik in the UK they’re quite strict on MOT, and due to age it may need ball joints or suspension components etc. But to make a long story longer, yes I’d recommend!
i'm from poland and the inspections are quite loose with old cars i think. I'm looking for an oldschool roomy and comfortable car that won't break on me and is easy to repair, speed doesn't matter to me that much. The one i found is also a 1.8l petrol engine. I'm just counting that no one buys it before me. I want to put in on 3 spoke wheels and buff it.
i'm also looking for a car that is quite economical. in poland there are lots of parts that don't cost that much. second hand parts are easy to find, there are many broken ones. You can also order parts directly from Germany
Yessir, he and I been buddies since high school and just clicked since, he don’t mind helping/teaching me and I don’t mind helping him when he needs it. As for the underside, from what I’ve seen it’s actually quite clean, a lot of the issues are surface rust. And the rockers are still pretty solid. A little squished but still decently solid. But when I put an exhaust on this unit I’ll film a video of the underside for sure!!
It hangs a little low is my only complaints, BUT I throughly enjoy it over stock. And for the price point over competitors it’s solid, welds and piping look wonderful!

No way a car from the UK is all the way in the US!! you don't see these Passat's here now. Hope you can get it sorted with the insurance, and fix it up and get back to enjoying the car 👍
@@IMKMotorsports That's good to hear, it's a it's a shame it happened but you'll get there for sure an it'll be looking better than ever. It blows my mind that a car that's been here in the UK all these years is now all the way there!! we've got a late MK4 Golf TDi Wagon that's been in the family for years and it keeps going. By the way I don't know if you know much about UK registration numbers/ licence tags, but the F is for the year of registration so with your Passat it's 1988/89. And the last two letters indicate where it's registered, I think yours is probably one of the London boroughs possibly. Also I don't know what service history you have for it, but you can check the MOT / yearly state inspection history of the car from its time in the UK. It only goes back so far as it wasn't computerized until the mid to late 00's, it's free too just Google UK gov MOT history check. Then type the uk registration plate in, and it'll show you all the MOT details. Will show the date of original registration too, you can check the car tax details on the UK gov website as well if that's of any interest.
This pisses me off for you. Glad you were able to get another Bumper especially how hard to find them. Keep it relevant my friend and I'm glad you are chill about this. I probably would have lost my S--t
I did the day of, I was boiling and I did unfortunately give everyone there a cussing out for about an hour or so.. not the best look on my part(quite embarrassing in retrospect) but it ain’t going nowhere!
It’s just a weird situation where she was parked beside me initially, pulled out and done that. I just don’t understand why she cut the wheel so hard..
He just recently got himself a tune. He's been having issues with it since hes owned it.. it honestly would be a whole lot quicker even without the tune if it ran better with its age issues.. but hopefully, the tune helps out a lot..
You need to rinse from the inside, to blow all the dirt out When you spray from the outside, you're just pushing it into the pleats defeating the purpose.
Your reply doesn’t make sense, you are supposed to rinse from the inside out. That’s not self explanatory at all. Just someone trying to give you a tip no need for a snarky remark.
@dylannippard4636 it wasn't a snarky remark. Again, to me, it's self-explanatory to clean from the inside out. I cleaned the filter once before filming the video. I'm sorry I didn't film me rinsing from the inside out. To me, it's obvious you'd want to clean it from the inside out is what i mean by that🍻 cheers.
