I always like to shave first with a wet razor for a smooth feeling then if there are some stubbles left I'll just glide through my scalp with the head shaver to get the job done.
Been Mach 3 blade shaving my head the last 20 years. I’ve tried all the electric head shavers. The aidalls wellup on Amazon has worked the best for me, for a quick shave.
Hmm. I, like you, have a full head of hair that I prefer shaved. But it sounds like you're not all that impressed with it? The shave looked good, but the feel matters a lot. I hate stubble.
Thanks. I was not aware that it works to install the HE6 blade oriented 180 degrees the other way to ‘push drive’ with the blade rather than ‘pull drive’. Do you find the ‘push drive’ works best and gives good control?
It depends on the model. My particular model is designed to be "pushed" for normal head shaving. I rotate it and use the "pulling" method when shaving my face and and back neck line because it gets a closer shave for me and removed the need for multiple passes.
Thanks. I was about to update my comment that I figured out the old model is pushed. I just ordered 2 from the Headblade site where they are still available. Could not find the Sport push model on Amazon . Thanks for your informative videos. I first ran across the first one about the time I first started shaving my head back in April. It’s a keeper and I am grateful for a good head shape for it. Should have done it years ago!
@@wharrelljr Yeah I use the sport model and should have probably specified that. I tried the ATX when it first came out and it just didn't work as well for my head. I was lucky enough to snag the stainless steel sport "limited edition" version when they offered it as it appears to be discontinued now. I'll have to try the "new" moto version one of these days to see if it'll replace my tried and true sport.
As outlined here and my previous video, connivence and cost are big driving factors. I'm required to get a haircut every week due to my career, shaving myself saves roughly an hour or so of time and $30 every week. Realistically I just don't care too much about what other people think and I find a lot of people let physical feature define them. Hope this answered your question :)
@c4trousers Your shaved head is magnificent- I've joined the ranks of shaved headed men in 6/21, and have never looked back. My own hair, such as it was, thin, split ends, greasy, cowlics standing up and unmanageable- couldn't comb it. Also, lopsided, one area thicker than the other, plus an St. Anthony's cap.
You're awesome for posting this! I watch your "how to shave head" video a ton in preparation to shave my head next month, excited to finally bite the bullet and get towards a permanent professional look as I finish up my Master's :)
Excellent video. Thank you. The freshly shaved head looks awesome, and I know it feels as good as it looks. I started shaving 14 years ago, and I prefer a daily shave--though sometimes I go two days. I just hate the feel and look of any stubble at all on my scalp, it's funny--once a man chooses a bald head, he rarely lets it grow back. I've help convince several men to take the leap, and they're still shaving today. It seems to have become popular now among older teens and guys in their 20s.
I spent around 60 dollars on my hair and beard every month and that was really expensive, then I saw your first video and the detachment with my hair and that encouraged me to shave my head with a razor and keep the look for months, I'm loving my bald head shining every day and a clean look, including the beard that I shaved after a few weeks of having my head shaved
You should try the Gillette labs exfoliating razor. I have a thick full head of hair naturally like yourself and it nips that crap right off … people can’t even believe that i have hair when im done… i also use head blade products and the headblade exfoliate scrub
Thanks for checking out this video, i'm excited to try any recommendations you personally use for creams, blades, lotions or anything head care related!
I started having my hair clipped about 30 years ago and have done so ever since. However, I did get to the point where I was visiting the barber every week, so took the plunge and bought a Remmington Quick Cut. After getting over my initial fear, I've been clipping ever since. I think guys look _so_ much better with clipped hair (and _so_ much hotter!) I think you'd've looked great, if you'd just done the clip! BTW, you could've removed your T-Shirt! 😉😉
I started shaving my head last autumn and kept it shaved from that time on. I don't know when I will grow my hair back but for the shaved look is a keeper. And I agree that guys look better and hotter like that. Got that compliment a few times now :)
Tu est superbes crane rasé j'espère que tu continue A quand une nouvelle video Tu me donne envie de le faire mais la réaction de mon entourage me fais peur
I've had long dreadlocks for 8 yrs...then my hair roots started thinning...and Always shaved ...i saved money 15 yrs at the barbershop...and now at the age of 40 i went to istambul for a trasplant ( aware that anyway i won t be 20 again😅) if it works i ll let them grow for a little while... otherwise i ll shave like u guys and i ll get SMP Greetings from Milan italy Roberto
....Was this your first-time total head shave? I wish to do the same....do you have email...wish to get to ask more and send you my photo to get your idea who a shaved head would look and feel on me? Are you still clean shaven bald in January 2024 after you posted this back on October 1, 2023?
Thank You! That was brilliant! And like so many below, a massive Thank You for being a serving officer in the military. Deeply appreciated! [From the UK too.] You are a hero. Stay safe always. Yes have been shaving my head now for over two years..... was balding, so started with No 1 guard and then went full on! No regrets. Different products in the UK. As you say i work outside so UV protection is essential during the summer months...even in the UK! PS. I think your partner's reaction said it all! Nice! Made me smile. Thank You. Subscribing for sure.
Thanks for your service. I’ll admit I almost fell back in my chair when you said that a haircut is $30! I started shaving mine in the late 2000s when it was $10 or $12 a week, and I thought THAT was too much to maintain my cut, lol.
Prices are getting insane. I just left CA and my barber charged $15 a cut. At the new duty station the cheapest I’ve found is $24, once you add in a tip it’s really close to $30. Very frustrating.
I shaved my scalp slick in 2018. I had left an abusive relationship and was one of those types who made a drastic, short-term change to their appearance thereafter. But then everyone I knew complimented me on how the shaved look was so favorable for my face and the shape of my head! Fast forward five years and I have never grown it out again. Now I keep it buzzed with no guard and only shave slick on a skincare day to exfoliate. Never been more pleased with my facial appearance not to mention the $$$ I save on hair care and barbershop visits! Peace out✌️
Wow what a story, i'm sorry you went through that, it makes me glad you made the change only for you and you decided to keep it because you liked it. I bet you've saved thousands of dollars throughout these years. Thanks for sharing your story and the comment brother
@@kirbeast46I would like someone to come over to where I live in South Memphis TN, and using my clippers, cut mine an 1/8 of an inch on top and then using the clippers and no guard, cut the hair off all the way up a little bit higher than the poridal ridge all the way around from side to side, giving me a very nice and very short military style haircut. You see. Like the other guy who probably has a haircut fetish like I do. We both enjoy getting our hair cut very short. It's not creepy, it's just one thing we both enjoy having done to our heads. Like Emelda Marcos and her shoe fetish.
I really enjoy having you come over to where I live in South Memphis TN and give me a very nice and very short haircut, like an 1/8 of an inch on top and razor shave the back and sides all the way up a little bit higher than the poridal ridge that high all the way around from side to side. I would also enjoy giving you a nice and very short haircut as well.
I would have liked to have been there sitting in a chair, and having him take his clippers with the #1 guard on them, and buzz my hair an 1/8 of an inch long, and then shave the back and sides of my head, giving me a very nice jarhead haircut, and nicely shaved back and sides.
