0:43 Ah, yes, good to see someone else remembered that time in 1988 when the Brigadier and the Eighth Doctor teamed up in Hong Kong.... I thought that whole business with the Embodiment of Gris was doomed to be forgotten by even Big Finish, and you know how they love stories (especially ones with Six or Eight in them)....
He forgot to remember The Silurians, The Master, The Axons, The Ogrons, Gell Guards, Omega, Giant Maggots, Bok The Gargoyle, K'anpo Rimpoche and dinosaurs.
@@benhughes3394 robocop, the terminator, captain kirk and darth vader, Lo Pan, Superman and every Single power Ranger, Bill s. Creston and Theodore Logan, Spock, the Rock (insert vine boom sound), doc oc' and Hulk Ho... Better?
Dumb slap stick (which few ever made funny), but for them it worked. My favorite was Big Business which was a typical tic-for-tac comedy, but hilarious. God bless Stand and Ollie.
I think it's supposed to represent one of the Big Finish stories "The Spectre of Lanyon Moor" that has the Sixth Doctor and The Brigadier in Cornwall fighting off something that looked like a goblin.
@@lordbox1238 yes, that’s obvious. But the question was: “WHY was the goblin king in the clip?” The answer is: the Big Finish audio story where the brigadier met the sixth doctor “the spectre of Lanyon Moor” featured a monster that resembled a goblin.
@@daetoris4473 the goblin that that the video was referring to seems to me to be a small one not a big fat ogre lookin mufucka but I get your point I was just pointing out how it was from the hobbit I get the reference just don’t know why he chose the hobbit
I don't normally watch anything Doctor Who fans make, but I clicked this and I don't regret it. Awesome to see Peter, Colin, Sylvester, and Paul, I recall each of those encounters fondly.
@@odinoldman1324 not true. The big finish audio stories, which are considered canonical, contain stories where the brigadier met the 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th doctors as well as the curator!
Excellent compilation and call-back to 'Mawdryn Undead.' Love the sepia tone, too. This is how the Brig should have gone out, not that God awful bit where Steven Moffatt made him a Cyberman. I find it hard to fathom that as big a lover of DW as him thought that was ever, ever, ever a remotely decent and fitting end for Brigadier Lethbridge-Stuart. He was a splendid chap who deserved way more.
I agree. The Brigadier was a much loved character. He and the fans deserved better. But Moffatt made a lot of dodgy decisions and went along with the dodgy decisions of others when he was showrunner.
Nicholas Courtney has not actually met 9th, but the brig has, on big finish, he has met TEN doctors, only river matches him./ The longest serving recuring character, from 1968-2008 no one has matched him, no one!!!!!!!
@@Goldenwhitewings not continouisly. Tom Baker served 7 years on screen, (74-81) and from 2010 til present on big finish. But the brig served through the 60's 70;s 80;s 90;s AND 2000's. the longest serving DOCTOR is actually 7th who was on screen from 87-89, in the dr who movie in 96 and was in the very first big finish story in 99 and is still going
Except for the fact that he was present for them. I assume you’re referring to the 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th doctors, whom he encountered in the big finish audio stories
@@Mohammedamine9. They also meet in Shadow in the Glass and countless other stories. But the first time they are seen meeting in any media is Dimensions in Time. It was made before Spectre of Lanyon Moor.
Was the hospital footage from one of Nic’ C’s last acting jobs? The Brig’ didn’t recall his Sarah Jane adventure, or Downtime. A few cameos from other film/tv included, with later Doctors. It’s been reported there was regret from the Modern Who production, that they didn’t get The Brig’ on to appear, only SJA’s.
When you say "it's been reported", do you mean when RTD said they wanted the Brigadier in Who, but scheduling conflicts made it not possible so they used the character in SJA?
@@kennethraymondmoore Yes -interview in DWM or a DVD extra. Having the 11th call the hospital, and find the Brig' was dead, was acknowledgement. Yet, while Nic C' was older and then ill, Modern Who had not included him, and production and actors expressed regret in written or video interview.
