I absolutely agree with this. I remember having a conversation about the responsibility of the believer, and when I mentioned we have the responsibility to repent when we err, the response I received is baffling. The guy said: "Repentance is a works based act designed to get God to respond in a particular way. You just have to know you're already forgiven for any and all things."
He would have had to have a scribe do this for him. A fisherman would not have been educated in writing Aramaic, Hebrew, or Greek. His scribe would have been a slave. 1 Peter also encourages slave obedience.

He is arguing that Isaiah is high quality literature, and high quality literature is not written by multiple people, therefore it was only written by one person. This is a weak argument. I think parts of Isaiah may be good literature, but other parts of it are extremely hard to follow and extremely dry and banal. Anybody can write literature that is extremely dry and banal, even a committee of people can do that. I think the stronger evidence for Isaiah being written by multiple authors is that prophecy isn't real, and neither is a human that can magically divine the future. But it is very easy for a human to forge a prophecy, pretending that it was written in the past to predict future events. Daniel is a fantastic example of that.

Matthew & Luke's geneologies do not conflict or contradict. They are of 2 people, Joseph & Mary. The genological list in Matthew, from David to Jacob-Heli (spanning about 1000 years), contains 27 generations of 40 years each, so as to comply with the 40 year royal generational standard. Luke, on the other hand, gives 40 generations at a more comprehensible 25 years each. Hence, Luke places Jesus in the 20th generation from Zerubbabel, whereas, Matrhew places him in the 11th generation. SUMMARY: Matthew--27 generations of 40 years from Solomon. Patriarchal--Zerubbabel's father's line. Luke--40 generations of 25 years from Nathan. Matriarchal--Zerubbabel's mother's line. Both Solomon & Nathan are sons of David. Both lines converge at Zerubbabel, then diverge. Zerubbabel had 2 sons, Abiud & Rhesa. Matthew goes from Abiud, Mary's line. Luke goes from Rhesa, Joseph's line. Also, Mary & Joseph were related; Joseph was Mary's great-aunt Gadat's son.///Matthew & Luke are telling the same story about the birth of Jesus. Why does the ALLAH of Muslims accept to be ONE like Satan the leader of the devils and not his opposite and greater than him? How do you differentiate between them if there is like them ONE ? Why is the Allah of Muslims incapable of becoming a man like Satan ? How do you differentiate between them? Why does the God of Muslims inspire killing and jihad like the ONE Satan , and does not kidnap souls alone whenever he wants? How do you differentiate between them? Why does the God of Muslims only inspire the prophets as Satan can inspires them ? How do you differentiate the words of your Allah from the whisperings of Satan in his book? How do Muslims worship an Allah who asks them to say the Shahada to forgive them the rest of their sins and to kill themselves for him so that he can forgive all their sins, and they doubt God who died on the cross for the forgiveness of original sin and not personal sins and the request to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit? How do Muslims differentiate their ONE Allah , from the cunning Satan, the ruler of the devils, who loves the night, the jinn, the moon, and lunar time, the one who snatches souls to hell ( jannat jinn ) , and who loves to humiliate humans whom our God, “ Jeovah ,” created in his image ? What is in their Allah greater than the ONE Satan ? Especially since the only Muslim in the Christian religion is Judas Iscariot, who surrendered Jesus?????????????????????

I bought my first TCR as a college freshman in 1973. The difference between the Kirkbride quality then and the red Chinese Zondervan is Marked. I would pay happily for a Zondervan edition that could match that Kirkbride quality in a modern TCR.
I strongly disagree with the two major religious sects. The nation of Islam in the black community is a response to white imperialism. Zondervan, you have no moral ground to stand on to try and call something out that you yourself were involved in. Christians and Muslims alike were brutal to my people, and the world. A thousand years before European oppression in Africa was the Muslims. The amount of forced conversions by both groups is disgusting. The amount of blood shed in the name of gods NO ONE has ever seen is also disgusting! While claiming a message of peace!
As you exist in the empire they’ve carved out, by the tip of the sword, with unjust laws to keep all of their gains for generations, and using the justification of Christianity. In this system they are the only ones allowed sacred space, and you get the space they allow you to have.
I hope someone on the committee is up to date on translation theory, particularly relevance theory and functional translation models. Both of these help eliminate the problematic dynamic vs formal equivalence dichotomy. These things have been around and well known since the 80’s.
You have to ask, Who first knew YAHUSHA created the heaven and earth? Who recorded what Adam and Eve did? Who recorded who begat who to the time of Moses and when and where did Moses learn all this to write about it?
This should scare us because we know how whole passages get added or taken away. How is Christ's resurrection not jeopardized by it not being in Mark? Was the nativity story in the original Matthew? Did Jesus claim he would destroy the temple? Who is the tax collector? Did Jesus have a brother? Did Peter see the risen Jesus? What title did Jesus use (Son of God, Son of Man, Lamb of God)? These have significant religious ramifications if they aren't what the doctrines says and between the variants and the differences between the existing words in the NT and apocrypha we might need to re-examine it all.
