Rooting for America should never be a conservative value. Despite our faults the USA is the best country in the world and we should all be working together to make it better while also being proud to be and root for America
I think Adam is wrong. He can spin it all he wants but to root against your own country is unpatriotic. I was never a Kobe fan but I rooted for him during the Olympics. You can and should root for your favorite player if they play for another country but that doesn’t mean you should root for his country when they’re playing your country. Do you think Jokic would root for another country cause his favorite soccer player was playing against Serbia. NO!!
Hi Irwin, I always listen to you podcast. I just want to say Im Tired of Lebron. Lakers will be stuck in mediocrity until we have him on the roster. It might be time to trade him while he still has trade value

I don't think it's that complicated, USA has a superteam, where as the international players, who are top 5 players in the NBA, or the #1 rookie with Wemby, had to hard carry their teams with much less talent than the USA. It's not that hard to root for them. I think it's corny to have so much fake national pride over a basketball tournament. Olympics are a time to see and learn about a bunch of teams you don't see otherwise. If I like South Sudan's style of play the most, i'll root for them to win if they can.
My favorite Player is Jokic because he’s not arrogant or cocky and he is willing to play for a small market team when the only stars we’ve ever had are short term rentals from trades or draft picks that leave as soon as possible. Other than Jokic my favorites are Chauncey Billups, Tim Duncan and Tracy McGrady. Currently, other than Nuggets players I like Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell and Steph Curry. Most basketball fans are indifferent to skin color,although there are some, all the fans I know root for attitude and talent. Jokic is a three time MVP and I don’t see anybody pulling the race card for Lebron fans.

Lakers all day but I had no problem rooting for Curry and Durant and Booker during the Olympics. Once the season starts all that is over but during the Olympics its all in for USA.

You just have brain damage. The reality is simple, US has a corny superteam, so the international players who have to hard carry players with much less talent, look more impressive. Jokic and Giannis were the best individual players in these olympics, so naturally their fans would like their accomplishments to be acknowledged and rewarded. American centers : AD BAM Chet JARETT ALLEN Miles turner Nic claxton These are all pretty solid American centers . Anyone or these guys could easily play with team USA
I'm a Spurs fan and was hardcore rooting for Wemby and France. I have no connection to the players on Team USA and despise L. James with a passion. His arrogance turns me off from ever rooting for him.
I'm a Lakers fan over any individual player. I would root for the US over a player I like from a different country. If Kobe was with Italy and the US wasn't playing them, then yeah I'd root for him, but when it's the US I don't care who's on the other team
You were just alone on the top for a long time and probably will be since you are 300+ mil compared to the others. That is why it is not meaningful for you.
You're fine to think that way but that's not necessarily a healthier outlook on it. These are sports. I like whatever team has a better brand of bball, even if it's a foreign team. Not to mention teams being more impressive because they had less talent.

The only move we missed on was not trading Reaves for Murray twice. Hurley was never coming here and coaching is always a crapshoot, as Ham was a hot assistant from a championship team, and Luke Walton was a great example. Jonas was the only player that accepted a MLE and he went to Was to start. Deebo and Klay are on bad contracts. Trent Jr and Tyus Jones signed with teams to start. Kam and Ant admitted that burning picks to dump vet min players is a bad idea. Grant, Lauri, DFS, Cam, Kuz, Carter Jr are not worth their 2 1sts asking prices. I know not making moves has been disappointing, but running it back is the best move right now. The moves we didn’t make are not so bad once you apply real context to it.
Brain had a few bad takes in my opinion. There is no massive move that will make the Lakers a bonafide contender, but making smaller moves will make the team better. You would trade a 1st for Grant but not Kuz who is on a much better contract than Grant and you know wants to be in LA. It’s crazy that they could’ve had DFS for seconds but you’re saying that’s just a marginal move. The mavs added Washington and Gafford and made the finals but adding Kuz or DFS and other pieces wouldn’t change the team in a meaningful way? Y’all gotta stop overrating these picks and stop underrating certain players.

D lo set a Lakers record last season. It’s not D Lo that needs to be benched. Austin plays like a great 6th man. He is a modern day Manu. Austin also is terrible at spacing the floor and needs a defender on the floor with him. We should trade Austin before his value reverts to undrafted again.
If We don’t make any changes, We have to Start/Play, Gabe/AR or D’Lo/MaxC bcuz of the Par to Subpar Defense of AR & D’Lo!!! And, You’re Right - We don’t want to lose D’Lo for nothing @ the End of the Season but, If We wait til the Trade Deadline to move D’Lo, that can completely destroy whatever Chemistry ⚛️ We’ve created. Lastly, I think AR can eventually Start @ PG however, He needs to spend 1-2 Years working on His Handles (Ex. Chec out Steph’s or Kyrie’s Ball Handling Drills/Skills). It has to be Reaves, Vincent and Rui. Russell comes off the bench with Vando. Lakers and Coach JJ have not mentioned Russell one time all summer. Russell and James are oil and water. The league knows this. Russell needs to re-invent himself as a scorer off the bench. Ant, you nailed it when you called Delo a mope. And at the end of the day, Lakers still need a big Big.

The Lakers can't trade him because nobody wants him. Russell, great shooter decent ballhandler, but below average defense. Doesn't always hustle. Russell can play the point on a team going nowhere. he can get his numbers. If Russell wants a ring, he needs to change his game. Coach JJ is going to make Reaves a star, or not. That seems to be the plan. Gabe Vincent was brought in to play the point last year. It never happened. He will get his chance this year.
What role are you asking DLo to step in to other being the starting PG? Because who else other than Lebron is on that team that can play that position as effectively and efficiently? If y’all this man so much and believe he’s no longer welcomed in LA, why not just buy him out and release him????
I think we have to think about it like this . I remember when we first made the trade to get Dlo and how excited we fans were and how it worked and we made a push for the playoffs . I remembered what I believe the big key we’re missing . I think what makes Dlo make sense in a line up is Vando . It’s how they came to us together in the trade and it’s just who defensively hid weaknesses . So If we continue to start DLo we need to think about it as a packaged deal Dlo must be paired with Vando at all times : (DLo + Vando ) = Starter If not Dlo must be benched
Good take. But if Lakers go into the season with him we need to move either Rui or Vando because neither of those guys deserves to be 9 on the depth chart -- and if we're gonna play Max, that's the best case scenario.

I still say someone should find out if Ham was pushed to start Dennis in the WCF against Denver over Vando who did great guarding Marant and Curry in the previous 2 rounds.Screw offense I know Vando would've stopped Murray from averaging 35pts in that series.I know Ham can't be that stupid...that shit should be investigated
