He’s beautiful Dee… I collect owls (not real ones! 😂) and I have one that is soooo similar to this… his eyes aren’t quite as bright a yellow as yours! I also just bought an owl candle mould… and I think it’s the same one as this… now I’m super excited to make one too! Much love, Nat. ♥️♥️🇦🇺
Donna, your bloom turned out great. Your giggling was cracking me up too lol. I think the metallic alcohol wasn't strong enough against the two pigment pastes. I think to get the gold to show you'd need to use gold mica or gold paste as well. Petra G. and Julie also will many times put a gold interference powder in with their pastes. Anyway, good job as always! 💖😁
@@dandaresin I think the white and pink paste was okay, because that's all a blooming white is (white pigment paste) and you know paste is dense/heavy. That's why I thought maybe for the gold needed some mica or something. But you probably know which ones work best better than me, so I'll shush now lol. 🤣💖
Donna!! Buy pigment pastes!! If you've never checked them out, I love Just Resin's pigment pastes. They're gorgeous and have every color you could imagine. 😂🤩
Haha lol I've purchased some, but I've bought from my go-to ones as I love them and very highly pigmented. Thank you, tho I will check just Resins out next time ❤️
@@dandaresin Where do you get yours? I always want to get what y'all youtubers from experience knows what works best. I've bought some stuff from Just4Uk but they don't have but a couple pigment pastes. Maybe they sell different stuff in the UK, than on the US site. I'm saving up for the all the eco pigments lol.
No, the eyes don't glow in the dark. I just used standard powder for his eyes.. haha, pretty when they are floating towards the camera and the sparkle on them. Thanks, Jelly, as always ❤️
Your owl is so beautiful. I worked as a teaching assistant for children with special needs for 25 years. Having a 12 month program and keeping their routine is essential. I honor you for your dedication, love and strength. Dedicating the weekend to your children is admirable.
Thank you. I only do resin during school hours so that when they come home from school, they get my time. And because they are at school all week, then I spend the weekend with them. Oh, I'm super strict with routine, so my 2 maintain that 7 days a week. My children and grandbabies are my oxygen ❤️
Your owl is gorgeous, I love him Donna. Have a wonderful weekend. I hope your boys don’t get to upset without the school routine. I know my boy doesn’t like changes,. Maybe you’ll all get to lay in a bit lol. Big hugs x❤️
My high functioning boy romieo he doesn't have summer holidays he stays in nursery as we pay for him to go and my 8 year old. He's off for a week in school at their holiday club for 4 weeks and then off for a week. They don't allow them to be off for more than a week due to that routine they have.. I'm glad you like the owl. Thank you Lesley and have a great weekend to ❤️
We don't get much nice weather here in the UK . Our summers dpnt warm up until late july. I couldn't bear the kids being at home for 3 months lol that would be too much, considering 2 of the 3 have special needs, so being out of their school routine wouldn't do them any good. So they stay in school but have a week off next week and a week before everyone goes back at the start of September. We also have quite a few breaks during the year. Thank you. I'm glad you like the Owl ❤️
Donna, I'm confused....what do you mean by blocking off the pearl so the resins don't cure together? What did you block it with or what/how did you do it? Also, great job! I had already bought a slew of these crystal figurines of animals and flowers, including this same clam to make my own molds too lol. I guess great minds think alike!! 😁💖
I put a thin piece of silicone inside the pearl hole just to cover the entrance because i didn't want the resin in the pearl to cure to the clam shell. So the silicone acted as a barrier. So the little pearl was not connected to the clam upon demold. I did this because I wouldn't have been able to demold it due to the way I cast the clam. Does that make sense??? I just used a very thin piece of silicone that I cut from the moulding that you saw me doing when I took it out of the housing. I inserted the silicone with some tweezers. I've bought a few things like the clam shell to cast, but i just haven't done any for a while, but I need to try the rest, Gaga. Yes, great minds think a like.
@@dandaresin Yes Donna that cleared it up. I missed the little piece of resin. My daughter was doing tiktok dances in my room while I was trying to watch the video lol.
Looks great, i've wasted so much silicone trying to make moulds then I recently bought one of these housings from Temu and it's made so much difference, It's plastic and quite tough, also has plastic connectors that slide over the joins to keep them together instead of clips. It was only about £4 so i've just ordered another one incase I need a bigger mould.
Oh, never wasted loads of silicone due to ones that didn't work. Haha, annoying isn't it, but the housing definitely does make a difference. I'll have to have a look because the one on the video is flimsy. Thanks for that. Also, thanks for watching and commenting, Evelyn ❤️
That was very well done Donna, and the results from your mold are gorgeous. I’ve had not great success making Molds, I’m going to keep trying. I just need something to make a mold from lol x❤️ Thank you x
I just get little things crystals etc from temu for a couple of £ and cast it. Most things are cheap as chips and you don't waste too much of it doesn't work out. I always think casting depends on the silicone you use as the teeperts seems to be the easiest one I've used to far. And then BabeDino Brand isn't pretty good to. It just depends on what you are trying to cast. I'm sure you will get there with practice. Thank you so much, Lesley❤
@LorE_aka-midwestmemaw8555 lmao lol thank you. I actually would of forgotten.. I need one more reminder tomorrow and can buy tomorrow night lol 😆 I appreciate the daily reminder. I'm surprised anyone even remembered to remind me 😂😂
@@dandaresin I wish I could remember my own shit! LOL. But I got your back!! I'll remind you on tomorrows video, if I remember 🤣🤣🤣. I so enjoy your videos and humor!! Thank you for being you!!! 🫶
BTW, I can't wait to make a mold, I have everything but I can't find what I want to make a mold of, I'm always talking myself out of different items 🤣🤣🤣
Yeh, it wasn't an easy product to cast lol 😆 especially because I don't think I cast it right, but it worked, and it did the job. It wasn't bad at all, hehe. Thank you, babe ❤️
Thank you, Karen. Practice practice. I just don't like doing them, so I don't do them often, maybe one a month if that, haha. Yours was pretty good for your 1st try, plus you did it with a very low viscosity resin, lol
You know I'm a fan of your voice overs💙 I can't find fault at all cause I see the depth of the 3D blooms with the mica powder and metallics! ❤ Due to me not ever pouring anything and just enjoying the beauty you create, I would only have questions... Like does it matter how deep the first layer is when piping or pouring the petals? I love how the middle is thicker and the outer petals are dainty like they are floating 💙
You say such kind thing and it means so much to have a subscriber like you supporting my creations so thank you. And no the depth doesn't matter. Blooms are usually done in a max of 2 to 3cm depth. I don't think I've seen anyone do it deeper than that
@@dandaresin you're so very welcome! ❤️ Thank you for answering that! I have always wondered if the different depths go hand in hand with the outcome of the 3D effect..
@michellegarza9541 I think if it was too deep it could change the outcome of the flower but ive never seen anyone do a bloom deep. And you are very welcome. It's my pleasure anytime
Hi maybe if you let the resin thicken up a bit it may not merge into each other as much , also doing petals causes more blobs as you go over same line twice, the spiral is the easiest method not to get bloobs, its still very pretty 😍 thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
It's one coat resin it's the thickest resin, and I let it sit until it got to 35c. I don't usually do petals. I was just trying it out and won't be doing them that way again lol 😂 I always use fast cure resin for my blooms because it's better and holds the white better..
Haha lol my 1st one was like that, then. It took me a couple of months to try again. I'm not a lover of doing them, really. But if they are your things, practice practice ❤️
