Do you need to have already set the wedding date and venue in order to obtain a marriage license, or is it possible to get the license without having those details finalized?
Emily thank you so much. Do you Feel In your experience that garlands of greenery are a better option for keeping cost down for areas like dessert tables, bar or do you think it’s worth spending more on those areas as they will be seen by guests pretty heavily? There’s so much to know !!!! Thank you for your content!!
What happens when your venue has the food, bartender, and coordinator are all included? Is it a percentage of total cost? Cause that would be an astronomical amount of money. Please help!!!
Typically food and beverage services that are being provided by the venue will already have gratuity included in your invoices, so definitely check that out! If you are choosing to tip the coordinator and don't have an itemized proposal that details what the cost of that service is, you can still do so based on the average rates for a Day-of Coordinator in your area. (typically about $100-$250 tip but this is totally up to you)
@@emilysummer it shows a 20% “service charge”. In the fine print it says that the service charge is NOT tip/gratuity and its up to our discretion the amount. I asked my coordinator what the service charge is and she said “it goes to the front-of-house and covers the services provided and expenses which are associated to our event”. I also want to mention that there is already a minimum cost that is required to be met. Makes me think that minimum would cover the “costs associated to my event” and the service charge is extra profit that gets split amongst the staff working the event. I saw somewhere that they said for the servers would get $1-$2 per person at the event. Not sure if thats okay
of course you can! It's completely a personal choice as to whether you would want to change into something else or not. Most brides will choose to change because their wedding dress is really large or heavy and would be difficult to dance in.
We had an absolutely AMAZING experience wedding dress shopping - TWICE! My daughter brought her two maids of Honor and me (MOB) and my best friend. We all just enjoyed the experience and were expecting that all would go well and it did. My daughter tried on 6 dresses and number 6 was everything she wanted. The stylist listened to what my daughter asked for and pulled dresses that she thought would flatter her figure and be comfortable that were the shape she asked for. Then we decided to get a reception dress and went back for another experience with the same stylist. This time we were shopping in the low budget range and it was a big July sale. We found the perfect dress (surprisingly in a very different style that was amazing and absolutely perfect for a reception) for 1/4 the price of the first dress. Now all we need is alterations!!! The tip you gave about wearing flesh colored underwear is really important because some dresses can be quite sheer and this is distracting. And 4 people who all were on Team Bride was plenty to have consensus but not overwhelm the Bride. Great video!.
Retired wedding florist here, and I absolutely love your video! I can't say how many times my job was JUST stating these things and how many times people didn't listen and regretted it. Your tip #7 was TRUTH! That was the most annoying thing I had to deal with is the "copy this picture" bride when her wedding was set for December and she's showing me dahlias 🤦 Or when a bride shows me a picture of someone who did the arrangement wrong or badly and they won't trust we could do it so much better. Yes! Trust your florist! Trust their artistic eye as well as their professional support. They WANT to blow you away with what they can do, so don't give them no room for creativity. You'll be so much happier with the results.
This is my second marriage and I have 3 girls who want to be there which is fine but my question is…what do we do after we say I Do? My future in-laws are both Pastors so I’m in a super weird spot because we don’t want a trad. Wedding. So us with our girls what do we do? This is what I’m struggling with and if we invite just the family do we have a reception?
The beauty of a non-traditional wedding is you can do whatever you want! You can have a reception on a smaller scale if you want to celebrate following your wedding ceremony. Maybe this means heading to your favorite favorite restaurant to celebrate with a meal or something catered in your backyard with a nice table set-up and some music? Whatever you feel comfortable with!
Hello! Wedding DJ here. These are some solid tips for couples looking for DJs. We often come across folks who don’t think the DJ is important and have us as more of an after thought but as mentioned, we tend to be the ones who help keep things running smoothly along with the planners so the couples can enjoy their day to the fullest. That being said, it definitely helps us when you have at least all your important songs picked out at least 2 weeks ahead (I.e. first dance, parent dances, private dance, etc) Also, please take into account that if you are wanting to have a better time during the dancing portion, you’ll want to have your DJ as close to the dance floor as possible (preferably right on the edge). Not centered or in the place of the sweethearts table but just really close to where there’s minimal distance between your DJ and your guests. This helps create a stronger bond and better engagement, so check your venues for layout ideas. Go to wedding expos! You can typically find 1-3 DJs there and some may offer discounts for booking thru the expo. You can also get a genuine feel since you’re meeting face to face. We have one coming up next month and I’m taking my mixer so if potential clients request it, I can mix live for them in the moment. Ask your DJ what mixing style they use. Some still play full tracks the whole time, similar to just prepping a Spotify playlist and letting that play. Some of us quick mix which is where we mix tracks to keep energy peaked while still playing all the hits. Then there’s scratch djs who also mix but incorporate scratching throughout. Just wanted to see the pov from the other side and that’s how I ended up here lol. Great video! And if anyone has any questions, let me know!
I'm a Montana Native from Havre originally and did my bachelor's at UM, so small world I ran across your channel now that I'm in Indiana now! Thank you for all the insight
Hi there, found you because I am wanting to use my lime light hydrangeas from my garden in my next September wedding. Hope to learn lots of tips and tricks from you!
Given the astronomical fees being charged by photographers, videographers, and wedding coordinators, I can’t imagine tipping them on top of $3000-$5000 “starting fee” for the services rendered. And I say this being a generous tipper. At any rate that makes hiring a coordinator a non-starter. 😢
This was a helpful video - thanks! Very informative and helped me think through some things. In case no one has ever pointed it out to you and it could be helpful to your future vids, you have an interesting volume level in your voice. Your voice goes from lots of volume where you are clearly heard (and where I question my volume level), to finishing your sentences very quietly and super hard to hear. Just mentioning since feedback can be helpful. Have a good day!
