Please, if you are going to spend 25 minutes chatting before you get down to business: consider that those of us out here are looking in several places for the information we need to keep our congregations afloat and we are also spending time on a lot of other things we need to take care of. Please let us know somehow when the important information we are eager is going to show up in the video.
I watched the GC 43 on line. I was very moved by the Rev. Paul's words. The words of the Intercultural group. I sat at my desk and was disappointed, that the statement was just "Past over". I thank God that there were a few people who were equally concerned, and from the Motion put forward came a time of Opened conversation. I pray that the Church will take notice of this and not "Sweep it under the Carpet".
I am watching this after the fact. I left observing the court live around 3:00. I found this man's words compelling, especially since the Theology on Tap group to which I belong is currently reading James Cone's "The Cross and The Lynching Tree." Cone's criticisms of Niebuhr remind me of the comments made by this speaker (whose name I unfortunately did not catch.)
