Hi. I'm a Cosplayer that wants to make Zeno from Akatsuki no Yona. I've done a few things, but nothing like this. Any tips? Btw: I am hand sewing the whole thing. Partly because I want to follow the original. And also, I've never been good with sewing machines. I've had more than one project end up just a tad bloody due to a slip.
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland 14 дней назад
The pattern is similar to this but not quite the same. Akatsuki no Yona is a Chinese inspired manga. You will need quite a few modifications. My best advice is to make a mock up and test your patterns first. Sewing by hand is not a problem, it just takes a bit longer. I think you should definitely check your sewing machine, most are pretty secure and I find it quite difficult to get hurt with one! There must be something missing there, either on the machine or something you are doing. I would try to join a local sewing class, they may be able to help . I hope it works, good luck with it!

Siiii, la mochila es super util para ir a convenciones! El foil no funcionaba porque mi laminadora es muy mala. The fabric choice turned out nice, I like the look of it, and the dark blue is actually a nice touch. I guess it kind of makes sense why you have so many fabics seeing a piece like this. With mockups, and any corrections when tgey do happen having some extra of all kinds is a good thing. xD Also, I had no idea that water soluble tape you used the temporarily hold the leather in place even existed. Learned something new there. The final cosplay looks awesome though, well done! Kind of makes me more interested in the anime now, as this one totally went under the radar for me.

I’ve used 3D printing once, and it was such a time consuming process that I don’t relish the thought of doing it again. 🙈 I do have a tip for anyone wanting to try it out, though: see if there are any local places that have a 3D printer that you can use. I used one at my library (they even cleaned off the excess bits), but there are also Maker Spaces.

Loved this video so much! My favorite thing is to buy cheap, beaten up cosplays on Vinted or from friends and try to upgrade them. Unfortunately I don’t fit the cosplay S size anymore so a lot of them either don’t zip up or are an extremely tight fit. I also had an idea to put a back panel into my Yor dress, so it’s nice that I could see how somone else does it, especially on a cosplay. Same is with my old Megumin, where only the dress doesn’t fit anymore. Also adding details, changing accessories is so much fun! I’m a beginner at sewing and don’t feel confident yet to sew a lot of these costumes (especially Genshin lol) so it’s nice to know that at least some pieces were made by me ^-^ And also - every time I get a new cosplay my first instinct is to add as many snaps as possible, because I don’t have any faith in the glue that they use XDD
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland 2 месяца назад
That's absolutely right! Start small, change pieces, add accesories. Even if it is just a few thing you make the cosplay your own this way and get to enjoy it. More often than not, if you are wearing a wig any changes at the back won't be noticeable 😇

I recently made a half circle 58" cloak with a caplet that is also a semi circle and approx 25" from collar. I find the caplet doesn't lay well. Maybe you can give me idea why. I thought possible the neck wasn't large enough. Any thoughts I'd appreciate
@AliceinCosplayland
@AliceinCosplayland 2 месяца назад
Well, I'm afraid it is very difficult to know without seeing it. It could be the fabric being too stiff. It could be the shape of the collar. I honestly don't know, but 25 inches sounds like a lot to me, so that's probably it
