Philomath A philomath is a lover of learning and studying. The term is from Greek philos and manthanein, math-. Philomathy is similar to, but distinguished from, philosophy in that -soph, the latter suffix, specifies "wisdom" or "knowledge", rather than the process of acquisition thereof. Wikipedia
Keith was amazing - but Carl and Greg had to stay inside his head to keep up and that couldn’t have been easy. They are (were) all fantastic musicians.
Anyone else feel like Lake's vocals came in too soon and how they just went with it? Truly amazing musicians not just well rehearsed but very good at catching themselves
one day in 1975, I was 9 years old, with my father at the record store: "Hey sir, I would like to listen to something similar to the soundtrack of "profondo rosso" (Italian film by Dario Argento). The sir took "Pictures at an exhibition" by ELP: my life changed forever
Take a pebble from their first album is just a gorgeous song. That whole album is fantastic. Start to finish. Talk about an accomplishment for three young guys to come up with such sophisticated music.
Fortunately for us many listened to George and made changes but still millions have not but will get caught soon. Not in a bad way, a good way, it just won't feel like it's good to them. 😊 Love to all. ❤
If ever you get into a relationship and the person you are dating wants to know about you, just let them watch you watching George Carlin and they will know exactly how you think about things, then you don't have to explain yourself...
My poo was a strictly classical guy, he didn't like or get this music (or any form of jazz) but he did understand the brilliant level Emerson played from. I always lived him for this.
I did too, at age 17. My boyfriend introduced me to ELP. The relationship didn't last, but my love for the music did, to this day. I'm a keyboardist myself and Keith Emerson was/is one of my all time idols. So sad that he passed. I doubt that there will ever be another band like ELP. They were in a class by themselves.
@@Carol120454 I agree! I am glad to hear that you are a musician. I am a singer/songwriter with two channels on RU-vid. I wouldn't be one today if it was not for groups like ELP. There is nothing better than inspired musicianship. I am sure you are a wonderful keyboard player. All the best to you!
