I'm sorry, how was I not leaving it alone? I looked at it, spoke softly to it for a second and carried on. If the expectation in this life is we cannot look at or enjoy anything even just for a moment, then that is not a life worthwhile. Which if you see the name of our page, doesn't really go with our brand! I love to capture candid intimate, exciting moments of life and share them with my little audience to enjoy. Not many people get the experience of seeing a hidden fawn. She was doing a fantastic job hiding, she was unharmed, I spotted her on the trail the next day with her mum.
Predatory birds are a major concern for us here on the homestead. Our chickens have seemingly disappeared before due to the impact of these animals. As we settle here on our homestead we see more wildlife activity. The farm animals and livestock bring them around. Through training Reggi is learning what is a threat to our animals. Many hours have been devoted to showing her how to be a great livestock guardian. I love sharing these proud moments with you all.
Our pet GSD mix loved to eat birds. He seems to have finally learned that’s not the way we do things in this family. It’s so nice to be able to let him out without shooing birds away first.
Hard but not impossible. She was likely acting on her juvenile energy. As she grows and learns her role. It’s more rewarding to care for it than it would be to kill it. She is only 6 months old. In the beginning stages of being trained to be a livestock guardian. Just like people, she is allowed to make mistakes. She’s a great dog that did a bad thing, doesn’t make her bad. We just changed our approach and have had great success in that. Thank you for engaging! Stay kind ☀️
It would be so interesting to see how you train these dogs, it would be I can't even imagine how you train a dog to be a guardian dog I hope you're right
@@malindadesertwolf2736 I will be sharing clips over time as to how we train our guardian dog. Some is just her instincts, some is a lot of hours of repetition and encouragement. Stay tuned ☀️
