If I have it correctly, this TV Special was produced not long before John released his biggest hit ever 'Here's To Love?' I was only 6 when this originally aired. Too young to really appreciate it. Now, 49 years later, I'm so grateful for the opportunity to experience these magical moments and highlights of John's career. Wow. I certainly didn't expect this. What a talent! What a showcase of songs! Appearing confident and very relaxed, it is obvious the Golden Boy from Bendigo/Australia was born to entertain. John puts his heart, soul and every ounce of energy into his performance of each number; you are guaranteed to be engaged from start to finish. Do yourself a favour and check this concert out. You won't be disappointed 🤩✴👏
Hello Keith Vincent, in response to your posting, You are not on your own, regarding John Christie, This talented Australian was brought over from Australia, by The one and only Dave Clark, yes! THE Dave Clark, who also had Mike Smith the keyboard player of the Dave Clark 5 collaborating on John's Album your on about, I purchased this from my local record shop for a little more than you paid for it!, but it was a bargain, I've tried to get it on CD, but to no avail, I'm still trying!! The Album was called RELAX, The listings were as follows, 1.Relax, 2.Belinda, 3.Childhood, 4.You Were my Friend, 5. The Wheel of Life Side 2, 6. Don't Cry, 7.How Does it Feel, 8.Everybodys Lonely, 9.Now That I've Found Love, 10. Ram, 11. Oh What a Day. Every track had its merits and had something for everyone, I thought it brilliant and still remains one of my favourite albums, hence why I'm still searching for the CD,, I remember seeing John Singing his debut single "Everybody But Me" on the Golden Shot one Sunday Afternoon, There are snippets of His concert One Christmas on RU-vid, 1976 I think, Correct me if I'm wrong,, John also had a few singles out under the production of Mr Clark, A Man who wouldn't waste his time on non enterties, John had such a brilliantly structured voice from lead to falsetto, A Great performer and I also would like to know what he's doing now, Yes I think he would be touching 70 now, And a closing snippet, He was the youngest overseas performer at 19 years old to appear at The London Palladium. He also appeared in West End productions, As well as the Dave Clark Classic "Time" stage show Not bad I think You'll agree For such a young and refreshing talented Young Man, Well done, and Hats off John from Someone who really did enjoy your Music immensely. See Keith Your not on Your Own!! Thanks for your post, It really galvanised me into Memory Action.
Well this video is sitting here on RU-vid all lonely without any comments so I'm going to sort that. I bought John Christies album which ever one it was, might ony have been one. Sadly it was in a clearence box in a store in the Midlands. I seem to think it was 75p and I bought several others that day for the same price. I found it quite exciting buying an album of someone I had ner heard of as ocassionally you get a nice surprise, not always. This became an album I really enjoyed and played it many times, I'm pretty sure I still have it somewhere in my collection. I can't bring to mind any of the other tracks but I'm sure if I heard them again I would remember the lyrics and be able to sing along, my brain is wired that way. The only other track I do remember which I hated was called The Ram, if you happen to be still touring John, drop that one, it was awful. lol I 'm now wondering what happened to John Christie he's got to be cracking 70 now in 2023.
The Golden Boy himself is a by product of The Golden City and this reflective memoir is GOLD! WOW, soaring voices by John Christie and Stephanie Lawrence. What a shame more of the world didn’t get to experience this amazing production, and these stunning performances . We need more “Marilyn”.
This is so beautiful, even though the sound is from a cassette in the audience! Love the Van Gogh's and 'vintage' photos that punctuate the lyrics, and the incredible voice of a 19 year old as he made his live London debut at the Palladium.
A loving remembrance of someone special, beautifully done. Photos are artfully arranged with heartfelt music and lyrics for a love lost too soon. Dear Michael...so young and beautiful...always in our hearts.❤
Been searching for this for a long time. This footage is amazing... John Christie is such a fine talent! This is a beautiful nostalgic piece of musical history for anyone who dares to take the ultimate journey down memory lane... WOW!
