Australia bud.. we have 000.. and the call was made before starting the recording we had to wait for the local electricity authority (Ergon)to arrive to isolate, then repair.
a combination of Light rain and dust from protracted dry conditions.. The fire developed in the Isolation switch from the 11kv delta to the 240v Y transformer aka 11kv to Street voltage. The moisture allowed an arc to form between phases A couple of hours later new Isolation switch and some amazed civilians
We had a transformer behind work just a couple days ago that blew up causing a blackout on that side of town. I think they said it destroyed the transformer on the pole. Dark as shit walking through the parking lot
Correct Phase-Phase thanks to a bit of moisture and a lot of dust. The Isolation Switch was on the high side of the transformer, ie the 7.5 or 11KV Delta.
every calls the fire department. did it occur to any one to call the power company so they could repair the problem? they would have been my first call
In Australia.. we need to Call 000 (112) our emergency call number, this is step one.. while the Supply distribution company is not on the call list, they are called by default. Reason? You do not have to carry the emergency call number for the Power distribution company - aside I have tried that at time and I get a quicker response when I go through the 000 than calling the distributor direct.
Nice capture mate & thanks for posting~!. I am amazed I never saw this before (I have watched thousands of electrical failure videos over the years). Can only reckon RU-vid's search/recommendation system is wonky or something.
